I picked Salcido for the upset, but by MD, but I ain't mad about it. I guess Colbert's corner finally wrote him off as well.

Salcido on paper was a perfect opponent. Slow, flat foot, and needs you to stand and trade. Salcido doesn't do anything special. He is just a come forward and throw volume.

Problem is Colbert isn't as slick and good as he think he is.

Not really, he's got a good chin and brings non-stop pressure and volume, which has been a nightmare for Colbert in the not too distant past, because as you said he isn't a slick or as good as he thinks he is. Not sure why his team would put him in with a guy like this, they had to know this was the probable outcome.

Arboleda laid the blueprint, Hector Garcia followed it, and Rayo polished him off twice

Not sure what Colbert was thinking moving up to Lightweight after losing to Garcia, he's undersized, feather fisted and can't take a punch, did he think those things were going to magically improve?

I think they thought Salcido wasn't that good. They wanted an easy fight for him coming of a KO lose and being out for almost a year. Boy did they pick wrong.

I actually went and watched Salcido's other fights and then overthought it, because Valenzuela looked better, Colbert survived him once, etc.
