Should this guy have been out fighting his 2nd pro fight by now as his debut was in the first third of november. 2 months and counting is a long time for a young guy to be sitting on the sidelines i thought he should have been out again before xmas and in 2012 have around 6-8 fights.
he was due out again (either late last year or early this) but got put back till feb/march, suppose he has to wait on a tyson fury fight, mick should just get him on someone elses shows also he needs to keep busy
If he's only fighting on Fury shows that's nowhere near enough. He needs to be fighting on other promoters' shows, off-TV, and getting some pro experience.
He should be having 5 fights this year or more, but if he will only be fighting on Fury's bills and Fury keeps the same regularity that he did at the tail end of last year it shouldn't be a problem. The first 5 or so fights of Eubank's career are not going to be worth watching anyways if they're anything like the first.
Sadly he's with a promoter who's relying on one fighter to top bills on a terrestrial channel. What Mick could and should of done is what Hayemaker did with Groves and let him fight on small hall shows to keep active. Problem is Mick see's that as money lost and maybe a part of the journey lost to casual fans watching his development. As Bryn says he should at least have 5 bouts this year, if that!
Hennessey is terrible at building a fighter in the right time frame. He'll give him the right fights but move him too slowly - look at Murray, Froch etc By the time Jr gets to the top, he'll want out. The same might happen to Fury too. Hennessey has often had a decent roster but doesn't want to put on cards often enough.
ChrisEubankJr Chris Eubank Jr I was told id be fighting Jan 28 in Blackpool now Ive heard its been postponed to early Feb? Whatever happens i need to fight soon #Restless
^^ See this is problem with Mick, he's relying on Fury all time to put shows on. When Tyson pulls out the whole bill collapses.
Going with Hennessy was slightly better for his publicity because of channel 5. But i think he should have went with Matchroom he'd be out every 6-8 weeks.
Yeah he needs to keep busy but name me a British boxer who has recently kept busy, come through the ranks, got a good name for themselves and won a world title? or even a european title?
surprised that eubank sr isnt insisting that he should fight more. thought he wanted him to earn a name for himself by fighting tough opposition regularly (like haggler as he once said in an interview)
