Benn dodged a drugs test for the Golota fight and then failed a post fight drugs test after Marijuana was found in his pee, that`s probably why he dodged tests during his prime, he had a rep for taking recreational drugs during the 80`s, he was a real party animal back then.
Eddie Hearn's behavior this week has been close to unacceptable and he has damaged his own reputation.
I actually watched the BJS Vs Eubank fight back during the week. Billy is a knob but he won that fight. Eubank jr threw the early rounds away, second half of the fight he stepped on it, could have been a different result if not for the slow start but jr has always been like that
You forgot he was fighting pro boxers & not a roided grime MC that cant fight his way out a brown paper bag. Saunders could still do serious damage bare knuckle on the cobbles especially with the added muscle hes clearly put on
Saunders is a far blob who can probably only fight for 3 minutes now, he`s an out of shape pub scapper at this point.
The pace was fantastic but the fight was very sloppy on a technical level, Eubank`s defense was very poor.
Watched it back. Fairly easy fight to score IMO. Gave Benn rounds 2, 3, 9 and 10 with Eubank winning the rest. 116-112.
Collins put Benn in his place. A grafter from farms in Cork, who fought heavyweights when he was 16 in the ams, and went to Boston on his own to train alongside Hagler and grind through the American ranks… so battle-hardened and disciplined. Collins was still having raw eggs and raw milk after his 4am runs over the grassy hills, while Benn was often seen with a pint of beer in his hand around this time and at the Ministry of Sound before both fights
Collins was living at the Matchroom shared house in Romford with mouldy baked beans in the cupboard, with Eamonn Loughran and Herbie Hide etc; Nigel had his big house in LA at this time and would come back for WBC defences with Steve on his undercard in eight-rounders. That memory gave Collins the drive to pound Nige into submission twice
Yeah, and a lot of that fight was down to stamina. BJS faded badly as he always did in fights and Eubank, despite being schooled completely early on, finished strong due to his superior stamina. Was a case of pure boxing talent but lazy v average boxer, but great athlete.
