    If it happens

He must believe in his son so much i get it he is a very good fighter but jumping to GGG? thats boxing suicide

Eubank jnr could of done great things and possibly still do even if he loses to GGG but this fight could ruin him

Eubank for me is one of the best 160 fighters in the world and could of proved this even more by staying away from GGG but now he has taken this fight i hope this fight does not damage him.

At 160 and 168 i don't see anyone damaging eubank apart from Golovkin

He may lose to some fighters but i don't see any derailing him like GGG would.

Eubank is hard as nails and no fighter can beat him going toe2toe with him even saunders engaged lee much more then eubank and saunders was not as hurt as he was in the eubank fight

    something very mean about him

At the very least eubank will break GGGs knock out streak

He's not crazy, he's a warrior in this sport and will fight anybody. It's a good change to people who protect hollow records.

It makes perfect sense really. If he loses, then he loses. Hardly anyone really expects him to win or even do that well. He can then just move up (as he is big for 160) and start again. Or, stay fighting at 160 and gun for Saunders. If by some miracle he does win, then he becomes #1 at that weight. The risk isn't really high at all.

That's absolutely terrible management of CEJ's career. They did the same mistake when they took the BJS fight. If CEJ fought BJS now, after having the experience of fighting the likes of Chudinov, Sullivan, Blackwell (BJS had it at the time), he'd be the clear favorite. But this time around they are trying to bite something way bigger than they can swallow. This won't be like getting outpointed by BJS, being knocked out cold will destroy CEJ's confidence and possibly lead to his downfall.

It's a pity really because CEJ is a great fighter, not only as a boxer but he's arguably the most entertaining fighter out there. He's the closes thing to a new generation Roy Jones/Sergio Martinez. Such a pity what's going to happen.

    Great Great point

If eubank fought saunders at this point of his career he would stop him

the issue with the fight was he did not go 12 rounds before as soon as he turned it on after 6 rounds he nearly stopped him

they should of got him at least a 12 rounder fight before he fought saunders

I'll be shocked if this happens this quickly. I really don't believe Tom Doran is ideal preparation and I think Jr should have fought a Stevens or Lemiuex and then gone in to a Golovkin fight.

But to my surprise it is starting to look like it really will happen and if it does then fair play to Jr, I will be supporting him because I'm British.

Although I will be supporting Jr I think Golovkin is going to be just too much for him right now, I see a very brave and courageous Jr getting similar treatment to Lemieux.

:yup His father is exactly what it means to be a warrior, I'm so surprised he still has all of his mental faculties. His resume screams disastrous aftermath.

Its gonna happen by the looks of things and i would be shocked

Its not great management they did the same when they took on saunders to early when they never even had a 12 rounder if eubank for example fought saunders after he had fought spike/chudi/blackwell he would stop him with not much issues

Eubank lost to saunders because of what he did when he turned it on after 6 rounds he nearly stopped him

eubank inexperience cost him the saunders fight

Now they are putting him with the most dangerous fighter in the sport has snr lost it?

In Sr's mind he went and fought Nigel Benn, another ferocious puncher, Sr was told by many he was going to get sparked, he was told he would be destroyed and he took everything Benn could throw at him that night and stopped Benn.

I believe he see's a lot of similarities between the two fights, I don't, Benn could box but preferred to fight, preferred to go to war, Golovkin can box, is technically sound.

One of Sr's most famous quotes before Benn was "The puncher never beats the boxer and he never beats the competent boxer"

Well Jr is not the most "competent boxer" here, he is not as good technically as Golovkin but Jr seems to have a much higher work rate (against a far lower standard of fighter) and is younger so I'm assuming Sr has changed his mind.

I agree but for me GGG is a different animal. he can box and he can wear you down just with the jab

It would be amazing if eubank jnr pulls this of it would make him a superstar over night

The main thing is i just don't even see how chris would get past Golovkin's hard jab which also carries concussive power this fight might even bring the best out of jnr we will have to see it will be a very good fight.

Eubanks ability to absorb shots will make him take a horrible beating, i seen a interview once of snr saying he would not throw in the towel if his son is getting beat up because "His son would never forgive him"

It sad really such a great talent in eubank could get ruined.

Another problem I see is Jr is not a one punch KO artist, he wears you down, the problem being how do you keep a fighter like Golovkin off of you if he starts to steam forward?

Jr isn't exactly a riddle, he isn't elusive, he is there to be hit so I agree with you, he could take a real beating and his chin could be his downfall.

The Eubank's said similar words after Blackwell, Blackwells bravery and toughness cost him, the fact Jr didn't KO him quickly ended with Blackwell taking a life threatening beating.

The key thing is if Eubank can absorbe GGGs punches for him to be able to think about his own offence

one of the things i hear about GGGs opponents is that they forget about their own offence because they so preoccupied with the punching power

Eubank MUST not try to engage GGG early he should box him him and attack him in spurts and wear him down easy to say:lol:
