Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Gary O'Sullivan

Kind of disapointed with Spike during the build up

I thought he was going to be brash, loud and confident, but he looks a bit like a shy schoolboy when sitting near CEJ

Its not like Eubank is super witty or anything either, BJS Clowney's him non stop and he had nothing to say back to him, so it's a a little weird. Makes me think Chris was right, this may be a case of Spike biting off more than he can chew

 

I'm suprise IB u pick spike by stoppage. In boxing anything can happen, but spike will get busted up as I think eubank has too much ability for him, if not stoppage then a wide points.

Spikes problem here in this fight is that he is particularly vulnerable to getting clipped with short hooks and uppercuts at very close range - punches that he doesn't see coming, and/or is too slow to get out of the way of. Worryingly Eubank throws a lot of precisely these shots.

Funnily enough - at long range Spikes defence is decent enough, relatively speaking. He can shell up well behind a tight guard, and does a nifty lean-back at times.

On the plus side, Spike has never been wobbled by a shot that I've seen, and unlike many other fair-skinned, angular-featured Irish fighters, he does not seem to mark up or cut easily.

 

Can happen but unlikely in my opinion. Spike supposely abuse eubank online for about 3 years, in that time eubank has improved a lot, of course spike has improved too. Guess we will all find out on sat evening.

 

Just wondering what you were basing your opinion of Jr not having Seniors chin on?

Here's a tell for you. Carl Froch sparred with him and said he takes a great shot.

 

Let's be honest. Eubank Jr has owned him.

 

That just proved that Calzaghe was a knock out artist before his hands was shot. Eubank said that was as hard as he's ever been hit. So the 'Calslappy' trolls can put that into their pipe and smoke it and tell me he doesn't shatter prime Roid's atrocious glass jaw with prime hands.

 

And let's be real, comparing Spike to Joe is like comparing Broner to Marvin Hagler
