It's time to get my prediction in. Eubank Jr beats a tiring Degale in rounds 8-11 in a brutal British stoppage scenario.

Where does this notion that Eubank got schooled twice come from? Groves was a schooling the BJS fight was so close

Degale starts out quick and builds a early lead. Mid rounds are pretty even and Jr. starts to catch up towards the end as Degale starts to tire. The result will be a ....... draw!

It's what makes this fight crucial and, for me, a must watch. I think BJS was a close fight and simply came too soon for Jr - bad management. The Groves fight, firstly Groves was a decent champion, secondly I don't think Jr is a super-middle, and third on a rewatch it is not exactly a one-sided beatdown... it's just an authoritative performance from Groves and a shabby fight from Jr. A clear points loss.

What makes this fight interesting is Jr has this one last shot to redeem himself. If he loses? Well, that's losses to BJS, Groves and Degale - the holy trinity of 'young british boxers' of the 2008/18 school. The only way back is to finally concede that he is not a 168 pounder and drop back to middle and claim he has been fighting outside of his weight division. But it's a bitter loss if it happens.

If he can't beat Degale he can't beat any of the top midlleweights in a million years , if he loses he's back to domestic level and pretty much done unless BJS fancies a big cashout in a couple of years.

I picked Eubank at the start. I've nearly changed my mind a few times, but then talked myself back into Eubank again. It really is a hard one to predict, there are so many factors at play. How shot is Degale? Did he look that bad against Truax because he overlooked him? Is this a focused and fit Degale ready to go out and roll back the years and put on a clinic? Will Eubank be better with a trainer guiding him through the rounds? Has he made any improvements technically? (probably not). I really don't know how it's going to play out. Might stick a fiver on a draw.

Billy Joe did not school Young Chris at all

He didn't even beat Young Chris, ffs Warren had to buy the judges

Degale is miles better than Billy Joe any way, so obviously this is the toughest fight of Jr's career

Prior to the Groves loss I actually feel like Jr had a right to be brash and arrogant, he had destroyed almost every fighter he ad fought and spotted Bill a few rounds and still whooped his ass.

After the Groves fight he should have been humbled a bit, it was a pretty heavy loss. He didn't lose the rounds by huge margins but he lost atleast 9 maybe 10 of them. 117-111 isn't close.

This fight Jr is talking to much trash for my liking tbh, he needs to do the job in the ring,

Hiring some novice unknown bum coach was a very poor decision. Nate Vasquez seems like he knows sweet f all and doesn't even talk a good game.

Shane Mac is the guy that could take Jr to the next level IMO, if he manages to out last Degale than I hope he turns to him.

TBH I do expect Degale to win, Jr has to prove something to me.

Degale is not faded and is a bad styles match up. Will be backing Jr 110% though

If DeGale is the slight underdog in the betting that's where my money would be going.

To be honest Eubank was one decent shot away from being hurt badly against Groves. People forget he touched canvas at least twice but the referee didn't score either for some reason.

Let's also factor in that was not the same explosive Groves of old but he still made Eubank very wary.

I'll go with DeGale, he does have a decent bit of power, he's bigger and he can box.

Eubank also can't throw a straight right, which is going to cause him all kinds of issues against a southpaw. Also his footwork is terrible, another minus against a Southpaw.

It's going to be skill vs will in this one, just doubt Eubak can negate the Southpaw stance against a bigger man and better boxer, even if DeGale is clearly on the decline.

People really need to watch the Eubank Billy Joe Saunders fight again. This idea that BJS schooled him is the biggest myth in all of boxing. It could have quite easily been a draw.

Actually quite excited for this now. I do favour Eubank Jr tight decision, but wouldn't surprised if Degale nicked it. I'm sure Degale will be committed and motivated - he won't wanna lose to Eubank Jr that's for sure.

No, Saunders schooled him, even in the rounds Eubank "won" he was barely landed a clean glove on Saunders, and BJS was still landing the better work. 9-3/8-4 Saunders. CEJ was going all out like a madman in the last 5, but hit Saunders flush like 4 times. If you don't believe me, go back and watch it in slow motion.:deal:

CEJ in the 10th. I love James, one of the few genuine fighters we have, and a good guy.

But in terms of styles, this isn't what he needs at this stage of his career.

DeGale on Points. Just hope he doesn't perform his usual dangerous trick of falling asleep around rounds 6 - 8. Backfoot, jab, slick moves countering to frustrate CEJ. Roll back the years for one last hurrah.
