This has to be trolling, surely? Well done, everybody has bitten!!!

Degale at his peak wasn't even clearly better than Porky Medina. The current version got beat up by Caleb Truax. The same Truax who Danny Jacobs used as target practice for 11 rounds before stopping him in the 12th.

The current version of Degale is not near the standard of Jacobs, GGG, Canelo or Saunders.

I hope he makes huge money and gets out the sport cognitively intact, then. However, people like me will suggest that the hype lacked substance but I guess that’s fine if he’s got plenty of dosh in the back.

It would not surprise me if Eubank Snr sits down with Jnr and they see and watch which fighters they can beat, bring reward whilst being shot or declining, least resistance with biggest reward.

As strange as Snr can be at times, he knows the easiest way in the sport, is to make as much as possible with keeping your senses intact. It's very much the Mayweather philosophy of why get punched more then you need too, it only makes you decline quicker!

You get it. Classic PR, talk about big name challenges then fight people who pose a lesser threat. Talk Golovkin, fight De Gale.

Hard to say because we don't know what DeGale has left, if the Truax fights were lack of motivation or whatever, and, we don't know how much Jr has improved with proper training...

Based on each of their last four or five fights, you'd go with Jr to win a dominant points decision.

DeGale is no Groves. It was George's size, strength and smarts that beat Jr - a hard jab to keep him off and draining his energy inside... DeGale has a weak as **** jab and struggles to stand his ground with any fighter.

The consensus of this thread is James Degale is washed up so Eubanks who is a middleweight and despite some deficiencies in his boxing skill by virtue of being physically able should win ? The only interest is seeing how this fight pans out to confirm whether the consensus is right .

Degale UD. Degale has an IQ that Eubank has never achieved. His athletic quality is going to be neutralised effectively early in the fight but he will fade later in the fight. It will still be enough though.

Think de gale will jab and move and jr will not be able to cope

De gale looks sharp and had been looking in shape so he will not be killing himself to make the weight

Don’t think Eubanks has enough power to ko degale

    Degale UD

Degale is the laziest fighter I've seen, I just can't see him waking up and actually boxing and moving for 12 full rounds. I reckon he'll quit on his stool.

To all of those posters on here thinking Jr has a chance - go and rewatch the Groves fight and critically assess his performance against a former world class opponent in Groves. Look at how bad he looked, no IQ, no ability to execute and he froze in the headlights.

Eubank Jr is supreme garbage as a fighter. He may come from lineage but he has no pedigree.

I dislike both Eubanks, but De Gale's recent outings suggest he has declined significantly, if that is the case Eubank may be catching him at the right time.

I agree most of this, but just think Degale is shot to sheet! He got battered by Truax the first time around then had hell in scraping a split decision second time out. He also struggled with Porky Medina, another average fighter. Even in his prime, Degale was okay against other technical fighters, but when someone brought it to him he struggled. He always spent too much time lying on the ropes and doing nothing even at his peak. I don't particularly rate Eubank, but just think Degale at this point can be beaten by a technically crude windmiller who will just outwork him.
