When Degale speak in interviews it sounds he's got one eye on an exit strategy - hell he could win this and then quit anyway.
I just think if he struggled with Truax who did nothing but walk forward behind a jab then when he sat on the ropes through some volume. Truax has lost against every world class fighters he's faced. He's tough but not mega quick, not a huge puncher, not overly slick - he's there to be hit but Degale has lost and then narrowly scraped past him.

Eubank isn't slick either but he's faster than Truax, probably a bigger puncher and throws in greater volume and will really go after Degale. Degale should win he might just have enough left to get over the finish line but if Eubank is in the fight i see him winning a narrow decision.

... I also predict a white Christmas and Tyson Fury will meet a tall dark stranger (due to new fight deal)

Eubank is clear favourite amongst people on here it seems according to the poll. I’m looking forward to the build-up this week. I’m sticking by a Degale decision. I think Eubank is going to take away any enthusiasm that Degale might have for fighting away from round 8-12, but he’ll hang on for a career ending victory.

Same. Quite mad how some are forgetting just how laughably amateurish Jr looked against George. In a way I hope he proves me wrong though, big fan of his old man.

Dégagé - lacking enthusiasm? Not selling the pre fight build up to me ... I’m going to watch through the keyhole instead

I agree mate. I liked his old man, too. Daft as a brush but quite entertaining. I’d be happy to see him win on Saturday, despite his awful boxing fundamentals he is a very good fighter, really entertaining to watch and has bags of heart & self belief.

That's true and in fairness, he actually almost had Groves out in the twelfth. Hopefully, he's had a redesign of the fundamentals.

Groves did well to hang in there with one arm to his credit. I don’t think he should try and box on Saturday, he should start at 1000mph, cut the range down and put it on Degale from round 1. I just think we’re going to see him try and box for 6 rounds though unfortunately and start fighting too late.

It's a genuinely decent matchup this one. A proper crossroads fight, and a fight that should tell us everything about both fighters. Junior lost to BJS but gets a pass from me as this was his first 12 rounder and I think he was 'warrior-coded' into the fight a year too soon. He then lost to Groves - a bigger, very handy, decent world champion. He looked average in that fight. So... either the Degale performance is a corrective one and he dazzles, in which case the hype train gets going again, or Junior will have clearly found his level. If he loses or looks wild and poor, then he can box on but he won't be box office.

Likewise, with Degale if he loses or looks poor there is nowhere left to go but retirement, and if he wins splendidly there's at least one more fight.
