Truax (1) and Jack both had a spell where they put a savage beating on Degale and to his credit he took it when many others would have folded. He’s a high skilled fighter but he’s got some heart, too.

    Eubank by decision-currently 5/2 .
That's where my money will be going tomorrow.

Csnt see Eubank carrying his power through to 168 and asformentioned, Degale is one seriously durable dude.

It's the common stick used frequently to beat Degale with but he's looked a shadow of himself in the Truax fights. His injury list is also horrendous: Achilles tendonitis which has prevented him running properly within the last year, a deviated septum, 2 groin operation and his shoulder op. I respect Degale for being a road warrior, but as David Haye discovered recently, the body will break quicker than the mind.

DeGale looked shot to **** recently ....He went life and death with Truax for 24 rounds in last couple of fights...Watching them i just thought he had grown very old very quickly ,probably got Badu Jack the Rippered !!!

I am no Eubank fan but i think he will win by late TKO

I've gone for Eubank by decision. We always hear the same stuff from Degale but he'll go back to laying on the ropes by round 4 or 5. Think it will be close though and not confident at all.

Too true, I completely agree. That Degale is gone now imo though. I believe today's Degale gets stopped by Jack late.
I think CEJ can put it on Degale enough to take him out despite James's pedigree, talent and will.
I'm happy to see Degale school a reckless CEJ but my gut says he just doesn't have it in him physically anymore. Can't turn back the clock.
Those doubting Jr's ability to cope with Degale should simply look at the condition of BJS and Groves after 12 with Jr. Both of Eubanks losses were to people with equally good legs as today's Degale and they were both taking a shellacking at the final bell.
I just don't think Degale lasts quite as long. Get's stopped whilst ahead on the cards....

Remember that James is more dynamic on both the attack and with defence then Groves - he has better handspeed then Eubank too. I rewatched the Groves/Eubank last night - there is no way he is gonna beat Degale.

Friendly reminder that last going off Jnr could not throw a straight right apparently due to longstanding injury to elbow.

Which is shame given De Gale isn't exactly a stranger to Southpaw.

In what way is he more dynamic in attack and defence? I'd argue Degale's defence is as limited as Groves - GG used his feet and reach with pull backs, whereas Degale is static and trys to block and move his head. On offence Degale doesn't have one stoppage win at world level. Admittedly Groves only had one himself, but Degale can't be classed as better off that.

The problem is with Degale is that because his talent is so evident for us all to see that we have a habit of grossly over-rating him. But in all honesty, he has never had a great performance since stepping to world level. He gives too many rounds up through laziness. Dirrell fight - 5 rounds in and he's walking it. Then gives up at least 4/5 of the last 7 rounds to make it closer than it ever should have been. A past in Bute ran him razor close. Porky Medina, a gatekeeper, took rounds off him through James laziness. He was well on top of the Jack fight before letting him back into it.

James will do what he has always done. Come out, look spectacular and box his opponents ears off for the first few rounds, then sit back because he thinks its easy and give up too many rounds. I am not a massive Eubank fan but can appreciate his strengths. He has a good engine, good chin and is a very good combination-punching swarmer. When James is on the ropes he'll block and avoid the first three or four shots, but when its a ten punch combination it won't mean much.

More I think about it and more I believe Eubank is gona destroy him. Degale weren’t a one off performance. He’s been on the decline for a while. It’s over 2 years since the Jack draw. Since then he’s been largely inactive. Losing to a poor Truax, scraping past him in the rematch and then a journeyman. He’s been unimpressive for years. Father Time and the partying have caught up with him. Stick a fork in him. He’s done.

Does depend on what Degale has left.

Im going with draw - Degale winning the early rounds, Eubank coming on strong as the fight progresses.

I like Eubank Jnr and have for a while, but when he has stepped up to fight BJS and GG, I have been realistic and picked against him.

DeGale on points think he’ll make it look easy as well. Don’t think he’s quite done yet a lot of people writing him off based on a couple bad performances.

Interesting votes. 50-39 in favour of the man who’s best win is against tailor made old rock head plodder who was better at middle weight and lost to Paul Smith years earlier. Eubank has been schooled twice against the only two good fighters he’s faced.

People obviously think Degale is really, truly ****ed injury wise because even if 80% of his boxing ability had gone he’d still beat Eubank. I can understand the fitness argument as Degale does take time off but he’s not fighting Ricky Hatton, Eubank won’t walk him down vigorously enough. He loves fighting in bursts.

Anyone remember the very first jab of the Groves fight when you see the fear all over Eubank’s face. Not only fear of getting kod but fear of losing as he didn’t have a clue how to lay a glove on him. I sense we will see that look again, with slightly less fear but more bamboozlment.
