Chris Eubank jr vs Liam Smith prediction thread

Could go either way. Eubank doesn't need to over think it or try any of his attempts at showboating, he's not his father.

The only thing I can predict for sure is that Liam will get cut.

 

Spot on assessment. The biggest risk to CEJ's route to victory is RRJ's attempts to turn him into a low volume mid-range snipper/ tribute act. Ironically, Smith's desire to take this fight into the pocket might force CEJ to fight as he used to (physicality and combination punching), and in doing so hand him his best chance of winning...

 

I think the narrative Sky are using is Gatti Ward. I totally agree though, I will watch it but it isn’t the fight they are trying to sell us.

Also the narrative that Smith is never in a boring fight. He’s a decent fighter but he’s been in plenty of stinkers.

 

I agree. If Eubank wants the fight at range Smith should stay there and box him, he will win rounds that way. If he marches in to the pocket for a brawl, more often than not the tougher fighter wins. Eubank can be a bit gimmicky but he is a very tough man and not someone you want to get in to a war of attrition with.

 

Eubank isn't as good as he (or sky sports) thinks so I went Smith.

Eubank Points - 34%
Eubank KO - 16%

Smith Points - 45%
Smith KO - 5%

Does Eubank need to fight Liam to win? I'd say so.
Does Liam need to stick to boxing and moving to win? I'd say so.

No idea which will happen, we could get a bit of both....that's why its so intriguing.
