It's strange how a few clips of him training and a win against a shot Koborov that he obviously didn't earn are seen as him improving in the eyes of a lot of people. The truth is that, since the Groves defeat, we have not seen enough of Eubank in the ring against quality to see if he has actually improved. He's definitely contender level, he proved that with how he hung in with Groves and how he absolutely obliterated Yildrim, I think Williams would be a very hard nights work for him though and he could come unstuck.
Wandering if Roy Jones can improve the kid in time, not had long enough together yet. I say kid but he's 31 soon. He can't extend his left arm due to an elbow injury, so how he's got this far without a jab and without a trainer or regular promoter (or experienced manager) I have no idea. His dad failed to realise that his son wasn't him. He was a much more special talent than his lad. The boy never positioned his head off-centre, off the line, for a start, which any 5ft11 stand-up middleweight should (his dad was more crouched and nimble). He doesn't shift his weight smoothly, and that's being kind. It will take a lot of work. But he can out-punch Willams with volume and marauding strength and fitness.
If BJS could only scrape a split decision in what was young CHRISs first ever twelve rounder, I don’t think Williams is putting a clinic on him. No one has ever put a clinic on him but Liam Williams will. So stupid.
No way was that a schooling. Groves outboxed him comprehensively but it was razor tight and Groves was utterly spent at the final round. And yes Groves’ shoulder went in that round which would have contributed to Eubank coming strong at the end but Eubank was cut very badly and fought a large portion of the fight visually impaired. Besides Groves was huge compared to Eubank. And he has fought many fighters near their best, they just haven’t been world class. But neither is Williams.
This 100%. Eubank is too much for him at middleweight. Eubank is a real middleweight who stuck around with Groves for 12 rounds for godsake.
A schooling which retired Groves. Young CHRIS ripped Georgie boys arm clean out of its socket and kept it on his mantelpiece. Some schooling.
I'm not sure it was razor tight mate, not in the least bit. Particularly when you consider there were a couple of knockdown's against Jr not counted.
Williams is a top fighter and has massively improved of late. But let's get it right, Eubank would break him up.
