Is Chris Eubank Jr completely deluded? He lost the fight by 10 rounds to 2 rounds, was completely outclassed. Only one man was getting buzzed and smacked in there and it was Eubank Jr. Two key points going forward. To those saying a change of coach will change things. To change things you need to be willing to take on new ideas and accept you are at fault. Eubank Junior has inherited the arrogance and delusions of grandeur of his father. Finally, at 28 years old it is what it is. You do not develop that much as a boxer once you have developed habits and ways of doing things over so many years. Therefore he is better off at MW. So a couple of questions: 1. If a rematch happens, how does it go? 2. If Eubank Jr steps back down to MW, can he become a world champion?
I gave Groves a slight edge, I did not expect him to totally out class Eubank, but I am glad he did................very few were giving Groves a chance, Groves was 2-1 underdog!
At SMW he is to small. same happens again. Groves actually stops him if his coach forces him to put the pressure on. At MW he needs Golovkin to age badly or Saunders to basically pull a Fury and stop trying. Eubank Jr is good but too many guys out there better imo.
We all watched Junior being taken to school by Groves. Junior will not learn from this lesson and will continue training in the same way as before. The next fighter he faces with ring knowledge and craft will once again defeat him as he is poor on so many levels. If he is to develop into a better fighter then he really must extend his ring education asap and get some good people around him or else he will be exposed again.
1. Exactly the same way. 2. Might be able to pick up a paper belt depending on the luck of the draw. Worse fighters have done so. But can't see him ever becoming true top dog. Even given that GGG is coming towards the end, there is Canelo, BJS, Jacobs, Charlie, Murata, Andrade, Derevyanchenko... just think there are too many fighters who have better fundamentals. An engine and chin only takes you so far.
Fight would go the same way. Groves would probably stop him. A fundamental trainer will actually make eubank worse at this stage. He tried going with booth he got hit in that fight they had together more than any other fight outside billy Joe and groves. I still say eubanks been able to get as far as hes got because of the training they do. He was too late to the sport for fundamental training to get him far enough. Look at Benn's son...he was the same. He has a fundamental trainer...training him. Fair enough he strays from the gameplan but the fundamental training won't get him anywhere in the grand scheme of things. Eubank similar....he,d lose too much of his assets fighting fundamentaly. His natural reflexes are,nt good enough for it for me. Eubanks too slow with the singles. He has to put his punches together like he does to compete. He's a fast combination puncher....due to his training. Them punching machines he uses etc. Hell still be effective at middleweight its just that eubank fighting from the start with a fundamental trainer wouldn't have got him anywhere against golovkin/canelo anyway. Golovkin a decorated amateur....canelo been boxing from a child. Eubanks natural reflexes weren't,t good enough for it either. I still say he goes further or he went further training how he does that using a fundamental training regime from the start. It would,nt have helped him beat guys like golovkin.
