Why is Lindell Holmes rated so high by Eubank supporters?

Look at his record. Good fighter, sure, but nothing special. Nowhere near the class of Toney or RJJ or even Nunn IMO. Is it just because it gives Eubank an American on his record?

For some reasons Brits rate Eubank, and Benn more than they do Collins... Despite the fact that Steve beat them both twice.. I don't get it :huh

It's funny because Lindell actually paid both Toney and Roy Jones as sparring partners when he was IBF champ.

He was part of that group of grossly avoided middleweights of the 80s, with Herol, Kalambay and Don Lee. He did good with Herol before the butt/cut, and due to being avoided by the Fab Four had to go way overseas to make a buck and be robbed blind every time.

I'm not saying Lindell was at his best when Eubank fought him, but when he was at his best he was exceptional - catching fast shots and countering with venom, fast hands, huge punch, tight defense, doubled all his punches up excellently, etc.

Nunn avoided him like the plague. I think he could've caught Nunn with a huge counter shot and follow-up.

Because Steve colins is Irish so seem to forget he battered the Brits

Colin's should have taken on calzaghe though which taints his legacy

Holmes was a very good fighter, but he was well past his best when he fought Eubank.

The Eubank wins are excellent but Benn was shot to **** when Collins fought him.

This is spot on. Eubank just wasn't the same after Watson, quite understandably. Eubank will be remembered as a showman, an eccentric and as a tough as hell guy who, whilst he may not have faced some of the best of his era, still has a very respectable record indeed.

Oh, and when did this forum become populated by racist arseholes? These ****s need to be banned.

He was quite boring to watch, unlike Benn, which is why I think the ring persona/act/clowning became so key. Jnr looks more dynamic.

Eubank = grossly underrated today!! Wow. The 1st Watson fight wasn't remotely close according to any american who watched it, the Yanks all had Eubank winning by four or five rnds.>!

Close 1st fight wasn't remotely "close", Eubank won the 1st four and last four rnds easy, and coasted mid rounds losing on workrate (usual story).. it was Chris who got shafted of his perfect record!!
