The blueprint is clear: Sven > .... Jones Jr ..... > Collins > Eubank > Benn

 

Benn for sure, in the US-based HOF. He will be in.

 

I don't think any of them have ironclad HOF resumes, and they would need to be in the right place at the right year to get inducted. The problem for them is that there are a bunch of fighters from the same era around the same weight that you could make decent argument for.

Benn probably has the best chance with the US-centric voters, due to his wins over McClellan and Barkley. If Benn got in, Eubank stands a pretty good chance of getting in vicariously, due to his win over Benn and long unbeaten streak.

Collins is a long shot, and doesn't deserve to get inducted ahead of Kalambay or Johnson, neither of whom seems a likely inductee.

 

I dont think Collins would have beaten the eubanks of 90-93 as it was he eeked out close wins over a lazy lacking hunger eubanks.

Equally i think the benn who fought collins was shot mentally and no longer had the hunger and body to give a f.

So I take Collins out of the picture. Collins was no more really than a good top twelve guy in the rich pickings of the Middleweight scene of 89-93 and a paper champ of a depleted 168 scene in 95-97.

The Benn of post watson 89-90 was a fast ferocious power punching brawler who lacked stamina and pacing. The 92-95 guy was all of what he was in 89-90 with excellent stamina, a superior bob and weave crouching defence and a superb sense of pacing. By todays standards I think of all 3 of them he is the clearest hall of famer. I dont pay too much credence to his two losses to collins where he basically quit in 2 fairly evenish brawls and likewise i think he won the 93 rematch with Eubanks.

No way Eubanks is a Hall of famer. Not a chance he never fought one A or B level american based fighter. Not Mclellan, Jones, Johnson, Toney,Barkley, Jackson, Mccallum, Hopkins .....no one.

 

Spot on apart from Ray Close and Tony Thornton were credible yanks Eubank beat.
Loved Benn's bobbing and weaving style when he got up to 168 :good

 

Well actually a fight was all but agreed with the Jones camp, for Collins to come out of retirement,have a warm up fight and then fight him.

Collins collapsed in training and stayed retired.

And lets be fair. Aas much as Collins was my hero as a kid, RJJ completely destroyed Johnson who had beaten(albeit in a tough fight) Collins

Joe Cortez and Rocky Balboa made it to the HOF. All three Eubank, Benn and Collins need to well ahead of Rambo. All three are 2 weight world champions.
