Question true or fasle? didnt these three to include Michael Watsion but exclude Michael Collins. a. get their ass handed to them by Mike Mcallum b. avoid Mcallum to the point one of them admited it.
chris eubank admitted he wasn't interested in a fight with RJJ and was only fighting for money. he lost something after almost ending watson's life. a benn-rjj fight was rumoured after the g-man-benn fight but benn was absolutely ****ed mentally and physically after that war. he was never the same again and like eubank after the watson tragedy lost that fire, it took him years to get over the mclellan fight and was driven to the point of suicide. mcallum i think was touted as the next opponent for the winner of benn-eubank II which ended in a draw.
eubank and benn were certainly world class athletes, the celtic warrior from Dublin Steve Collins kicked both there asses TWICE. Need I say more?
collins openly admitted that the version of benn he fought was nothing compared to the one that fought years beforehand.
Isnt the poll somewhat contradictary ?? I think their world class but a lot of Americans dont - I wanted to vote for both options !!
Your hate for Euro fighter is truly amazing. Tell me, what the **** has an astronaut got to do with boxing? Due to your **** poor grammar I cant quite understand what you are getting at. None of the 3 fought McCallum, but Mike Watson did when he was very green and did okay. A better Mike Watson was beaten twice by Eubank. What does that tell us? Not a great deal but it suggests comparable class. So one of em admitted avoiding McCallum? A wild stab in the dark that would be Eubank, the exact same man that if paid enough would get in the ring with the most dangerous boxer of the time not once but twice. Eubank openly admitted he needed big money for big fights. That is not news. If there wasnt enough money to make a McCallum fight happen Eubank wouldnt consider it. And that is, was and always will be his perogative. EDIT: Just remembered that Collins like Watson fought McCallum when he was a bit green. Same result as Watson. Decent showing but lost, and improved later in his career.
Eubank was still decent and many thought he should have got the nod in one or both fights. Had it not been post Watson it looked like he would have stopped Collins in one of the fights - my memory fails me as to which one. Benn left what he had left in the ring with G-Man. He was a shot to **** shell when he fought Collins.
All three were good fighters, but my preference was benn due to the fact when he looked out of it he came back and inevitably knock some one out. By the Way wasn't collins from the Republic of Ireland.
indeed. i'm not quite sure what made benn carry on fighting after the g-man fight. he got paid pretty well from that bout as far as i'm aware. although i suppose it's pretty important to fill your life with work when you're on the brink like he was after almost ending another mans life in such a brutal way.
Yes he was from Dublin. As he was a contemporary of and fought the Brits of the time he's often lumped in with them as a "brit" but he is certainly a paddy.
Yes, you do need to say mdore. Benn was shot to **** and the Eubank fights were very close. He was way up ***** street in one fight, had not Eubank backed off as he did post Watson he would have been stopped most likely.
