Could he do you think?? He did have a granite head so...? I won't go as far as asking if he could beat the Marvelous one!! But going the distance with him is a moral victory.
Yes, I think he would suffer a bad beating and if he was able to avoid being stopped on cuts he would go the full 12 rounds. 15 rounds may be a different story
Yep it's only a matter of 9 minutes difference in rounds but it could seem like forever against Hagler. Twelve rounds he makes it imo, by the time it gets to 14.. Idk, I see it being a bridge too far.
You could say Michael Watson was somewhat close to stopping Eubank in their 2nd fight, all credit to Eubank for pulling it out with an amazing uppercut and sad for Watson because of the injury. But i'm just wondering if you put Hagler in that scenario over 15 rounds. Then maybe just maybe Hagler could stop Eubank in a 15 round fight, i'd also be curious to see how Eubank dealt with the body punching of McCallum.
I think you got the question the wrong way round. More like could Hagler last 15 rounds with simply the best?
Impossible to speculate if Eubank could make the 15 because none of us have seen him there. He had a great chin and more than likely finishes the 12. But make no bones about it, Hagler beats him up.
Might do, yes. He was a tough guy with a big punch and Hagler liked to outbox these sorts rather than slug it out.
Eubank SR used to come down to a gym In Brighton I trained at and he Is a big man. He would dwarf Hagler. Eubank SR Is a lot thicker and bigger. He easily could last 15 rounds with Hagler. Not sure If his tank could though.
Watson was more like a cruiserweight that night, at the pace Hagler set against Hearns! Eubank had no right to come out alive. Eubank said had he faced McCallum the night he fought Watson in their FIRST fight, when tight as hell, he’d of been stopped on body shots in 10 rounds if McCallum was still there.
Chris used to like to spar 15 rounds in New York in his younger days but couldn’t find anyone who’d agree to it in the United Kingdom when he came over in the late 1980s. However this was when he was smaller and lighter.
I think Eubank could hang in and also would be competitive over 12 or 15 rds., he always looked in excellent condition to me!
Yep, and style wise I think it would be a good fight that could go either way. I know people love Hagler…me too. I know people hate Chris…I don’t. I think it would be a 50/50 fight where I would not root for either guy because I appreciate both of them. Hagler is greater…but facing each other, I think it would be tough
