Hopefully it is bollocks but if it is true then wishing him the best of luck in getting his head straight. A true character of the sport whether you like him or not. Has had it rough this past year or so losing his son so I imagine, IF it is true, that will have been a major factor.
Johnny Nelson just needs to be quiet in general, and keep his ill informed opinions to himself. He's known for the most dullest fight in history, and 90 percent of his fights were forgettable. His other quote about Usyk being an average Southpaw, and that he could of beaten him, tells you all you need to know. As for the topic get well soon Chris.
From here, best wishes to Eubank Senior. Let's hope Eubank Jr. can maintain focus if the fight is completed on saturday. I have to admit that I hope it will be cancelled.
I’ve told this story before but I’ll tell it again. In the early to mid 00’s I worked in Knightsbridge. I was walking down the High Street after work and saw in the distance what I immediately knew was Eubank’s massive truck. I’d always loved him and had recently read his autobiography so was pretty excited. He was standing outside the truck and I said hi, told him I was a big fan and had just read his book. He was exactly as you would imagine and he lent into the truck, took out a Louis Vuitton wallet and gave me a big signed photo (which he was selling on his website at the time for about £20!). The experience made my day as a young man, he was everything I hoped he’d be which is exactly what you’d imagine!
That’s a good question, and unfortunately my memory is terrible. I can say that he definitely looked as I expected him to so yeah he probably did!
If Snr needs some medication he should contact Conor, probably cheaper than checking into the priory. all jokes aside I hope he gets the help he needs, I’ve got three kids. Couldn’t imagine what he’s going through. He’s a top bloke a real national treasure.
I hope Chris is ok. Probably my most favourite fighter ever. Had great memories of watching him on ITV when I was a whipper snapper.
Hardly surprising, he lost a son last year and now everyone is ignoring him when he tries to protest his other son doing a dangerous weight cut. It must be extremely frustrating for him.
I haven't seen any news articles about him going into a mental hospital so don't know any details. But did knowing Benn had tested positive and the fight was still going ahead push Snr over the edge? And the cynic in me wonders if Snr was being a thorn in everyone's side trying to get the fight stopped and would be beneficial to have him in hospital until after the fight?
