Love Eubank, but his recollections of the Sherry and Malinga fights in particular are bordering on the delusional. He generally brought it in the biggest fights, but when it came to decisions he was the luckiest fighter this side of Sven Ottke.
He doesn't say he outboxed Sherry, reading it. He didn't. Sherry was all busted up and hanging on before the backwards headbutt and comical ending. Thought Eubank edged almost every round against Malinga with sharper jabbing, personally. And Malinga was on ***** street at the end of the 5th.

Interestingly enough, I just rewatched the Eubank-Malinga fight for the first time since it happened. Rather different from how I remembered it, and I think Eubank did enough to get the nod. Was quite surprised at how Eubank was able to dictate control distance, as neither was obviously as comfortable being the aggressor. I think it could go down as one of Eubank's better wins, especially considering he was coming off the second Watson fight. Probably give Eubank-Sherry another view when I get the chance. My recollection is that Eubank was behind even without the two point deduction. It's strange that Eubank had so much trouble with him, considering how Sherry did against other world class fighters.
You know it's weird seeing Eubank get so much respect now.I was a fan in the early days and because Boxing was such a maintsream(terrestrial TV) sport then, there were much more casual fans. And most people despised Chris. It wasn't easy being a fan back then so good to see him getting props now.:good
