Sr put up a better fight than expected against Calzaghe, having taken the fight at 11 days notice and come out of retirement. Calzaghe was a big betting favourite.

Collins didn't put any whooping on Eubank, Eubank didn't have a mark on him and clearly stood off Collins in that 10th round after knocking him over and didn't do anything for the rest of the fight (with the thoughts of the Watson tragedy after Steve's claims of hypnotism and having to be killed to beat). Eubank had been looking vulnerable at the time from the schedule and weight-making but nobody thought Collins could beat him.

Didn't Collins miss like 90% of his punches in the rematch? It was still enough to outwork Eubank and get the nod - they were two fighters in two different leagues though which was plain to see.

eubank has a trash resume but was a good fighter that didn't really wanna challenge himself he could have been in some great fights because he was tough and could fight and wasn't just all talk like jr

AT this time Eubank,Jr. has the biggest mouth in boxing and appears to be somewhat nuts!

Maybe that insane schedule of fighting every 7-12 weeks explains why he shut down fights at the earliest opportunity. Something has to give when a fighter stays in fight mode 24/7, 365....

    Overrated in the UK.

He was a good fighter but not the great fighter he's been made out to be.

Damn.. That was a close fight.
Eubank never seemed to hurt Thornton.

Thornton was ridiculously tough. Toney couldn't hurt him or even Jones Jr (BS stoppage). In fact the most hurt Tony ever looked was the end of that 9th vs Eubank Sr.
