I was in Germany at the time of Rocchigiani-Nunn and it was a big deal!

I remember Nunn just ineffectively flurrying at Rocky's guard all night, while Rocky didn't do too much but everything he did do was effective.

 

If I remember correctly Nunn was in a corner a lot that night, trying to counter.

 

iirc, Rocky had vacated his smw title years earlier b/c he could no longer make weight. i think the effort to get back down to 168 affected his performance & possibly accounts for the lethargic start that ultimately cost him the fight.

agreed, I thought Rocky won fair & square on the strength of cleaner, harder punching, whereas Nunn just ineffectually pity patted on Rocky's arms & gloves all night.

 

your comment about Germany is incompetent. Rocky never had a big promoter and was not protected like others.

 

Huge fan of Rocky but Eubank won the fight.
People talk about Darius and Masks but Rocky was the better one and I thought he beat Maske.
He should have been 1-1 vs Darius.
