I really can't decide who to go for here, both very good iron chinned fighter. I think it would be the narrowest SD or MD either way.

I think Johnson fighting a disciplined mobile fight would be a nightmare for Eubank and take a 3-4 point decision.Even allowing for the fact he tended to slow a notch or two in workrate and offensive sharpness after the first 6.It's not like Eubank was mr consistency offensively\stamina-wise himself and he was never comfortable punching and leading on the agressive.

On the other hand if Reggie tried to fight more of a technical ring-centre fencing\boxer-puncher sort of bout i think Eubank would a bit too cute and strong a counterpuncher for him.Eubank's Napoles-like head movement would be tough to crack from that range and pace.

    Eubank could've taken him out.

Eubank actually avoided Reggie Johnson after the Benn rematch when it was offered to him as a Stateside fight via King.

I think Eubank would eke it out.

Eubank was a 182lb middleweight who hit like a mule with the untelegraphed lead right (that would be amplified against a narrow southpaw stance). Reggie Johnson wasn't concrete, I thought he always looked quite fragile actually.

Roy Jones hit harder than Eubank and was much much more skilled and he couldn't stop Johnson and James Toney hit at least as hard and was 10 times more accurate than Eubank and he didn't come close to stopping Johnson either. Just because Eubank was bigger doesn't mean he KO's him it doesn't always work like that

 it doesn't work like that young man. We can all play word games.

I wouldn't say Jones was more skilled than Eubank, but he was a harder hitter, though not as heavy a hitter. James Toney did not hit as hard and not near as heavy, and was nowhere near 10 times more accurate.

Eubank was a freak middle, Reggie came in at 165 against Collins (Collins came in at 166) and that was the day-before weigh-in. Eubank came in at 182 against Stretch and that was the same-day weigh-in! He even had significanly less bodyfat on fight night, than Reggie. It's almost unfair, in fact.

Coming in at 182 with weigh-in the same day will probably not help your strength.

Also don't see the difference between "hard" and "heavy". Is "heavy" hard without precision and speed, or what? Better just use the word power, since the impact (velocity x mass) is what it is.
