JOHN, ARE YOU READY TO FIGHT A CUBAN OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST? I DON'T THINK SO...

he said he like the idea, so i think he's ready. he'll be a tough opponent for both guys but i think gamboa will win. john/juanma is a pick em fight.

Well i do agree that Gamboa would beat John, but being a Cuban Olympic gold medalist isnt the reason why.

John would beat any amatuer in the World Cuba,RUssia,US wherever.

Gamboa wins this because he has come into his own as a solid PRO, He looks much better than he did a few fights ago.

And the outcome of that fight was?
I wouldnt be surprised if JuanMa takes Chris John out in the mid/late rounds or by UD.
Either way I think CJ is on borrowed time with these two guys in the division now. Granted I do think Gamboa needs more fights before getting in there with him, in the mean time lets get JuanMa vs CJ :happy

boxers call out other boxers because of money so dont make too much of this.. DLH wasnt the best boxer in his time but everybody wanted to fight him because they knew they were going to get pay.. right now juanma is the best money making boxer in that weight class of course everybody wants to fight him

I agree that it would make sense, but I don't believe that Bobby Arum would let Juanma face a very unfavorable matchup in Caballero. Caballero's power and range would hit Juanma so fast he wouldn't know what hit him.

I think Arum might face Juanma up with either Santiago, Rojas or Cruz and Gamboa perhaps against Chris John.

Maybe I'm just biased because I think Gamboa will **** on Juanma, but I really don't believe that Juanma is the same caliber. I don't think he can match up against the top guys and Arum knows that.

Luevano was a big step up for Juanma and although he passed the test easily, I'm still skeptical that he can match up with the big guns.

I think Arum will put JuanMa in against Concepcion in his next fight.

    Neither guys should fight John.

Gamboa is getting over rated because he beat (ok blew out) a tough journeymen in Mtagwa. People are forgetting how many times he was down before that fight against fighters far below Johns' caliber.

I don't really know what to make of Lopez. Lopez beat Luevano, who is a good fighter, but didn't have the speed or strength to really deter Lopez. I think John is both faster with better power than Luevano, although with the same experience at the elite level. Not a fight Lopez should take if he is trying to go undefeated before fighting Gamboa.
