Chris John - Is he ever going to fight real comp?

I've been looking at John's career, and yes...it looks semi-solid with (JM) Marquez and Juarez on his ledger. However, is he ever going to face off against other guys in his division like Juan Manuel Lopez, Gamboa, Caballero, Vasquez, or Raphael Marquez?

Currently, John is slated to face off against a guy who's last fight was a 4 rounder (in January). I'm slowly starting to turn on John. I hold high respect for anybody that can hold down a division, but it's another thing to let the credible opponents pass you by and take on crap mandatories.

John will either have to start taking on better fighters or else he'll become RJJ-lite in terms of picking opponents.

Can't he fight a top 10 fighter in his division? Aside from Juarez, obviously.

Chris john would much rather collect paychecks fighting at home, but is 2 fights with juarez show that hes willing to take some risk. However is 2nd fight with juarez had scary moments(12 round - almost KOed). I think he will get 3-4 more fights, then go back for a tough opponent.

However, Juarez is defenitly the weakest of original poster's list.

I dont blame John if he fights in Indonesia for the rest of his career against C class fighters. He came over to the U.S to make a name for himself and for less money he would of got home and instead gets robbed.

 

I think Juan Ma is making decision about his career from the business aspect at this point.

Lowest risk, highest reward.

 

Why don't fighters go over to indonesia to fight him instead of him coming here. Oh I know why they don't wanna get there asses kicked.
