So. Me not watching any of his fights doesnt mean that he was not a great fighter. John was actually voted fighter of the decade. He possessed an extremely impressive 48-1 record . And had almost a 10 year undefeated run as World Champion.

    Against bums?
Yordan, Juarez, Marquez, Enoki, Sato, Hosono, Gainer, Rojas were bums?

I wouldn't say he has a legendary title reign but he faced some very credible foes who simply aren't known in the US (Enoki, Yordan and Hosono being 3 very clear examples)

He went for the most money without a doubt, but are those defences worse than facing the likes Bernabe Concepcion or Rogers Mtagwa? Like big name American based fighters were doing...

Chris John was a good fighter. I saw him get cheated in Texas, so I don't blame him for not fighting in America again.....................

I always thought Chris John was a monumental ducker, stay at home disgrace and overrated bum beater, but now it turns out he's a glass hearted chump too, pulling a Hamed after his first loss instead of trying to avenge it

at least Hamed lost to an ATG in Barrera, whilst John lost to a nobody. Pathetic, just like his fans who think he's an ATG when his only good victory was a gift decission over JMM ages ago. fighter of the decade my ass

Good riddance Chris Joke, you will NOT be missed

    1. "Ducker."

Okay. He didn't fight that many top 10 guys given his reign. However, I don't judge fighters by what they didn't do but rather only what they did do.

    2. "stay at home disgrace"

    Defended title in:
    Japan- three times
    Singapore- twice
    Australia- three times
    USA- twice

    3. "overrated bum beater"

Marquez, Enoki, Juarez X2, Yordan, Gainer, Sato, Piriyapino

    Suuuurrrre...

    4. "glass hearted chump too"

Wow, like pro boxers who have 50+ fights on their body are cowards for not fighting on longer. Do you think they owe it to you?

    5. "whilst John lost to a nobody"

Haha. Really? Simpiwie who was a former title challenger years before and fresh off that Yordan stoppage? He was a known power puncher/grinder rated #10 by The Ring off that win if I remember correctly...

    6. "his only good victory was a gift decision over JMM ages ago"

    a. Look at above list for other good victories.
    b. It was not a gift decision. It was a close decision that he won.
    c. "JMM ages ago" Well, isn't that the closer to prime JMM and therefore better time to fight him?

    7. "you will not be missed"

The Ring Featherweight rankings will miss him. He has been on them from 2004-2013 straight, and #1 from 2006-2009.
