This thread isn't about his legacy or his win over JMM.

This is about him travelling more than almost any other titlist out there and somehow having a reputation from idiots on ESB for holding the belt hostage and not willing to travel overseas.

For all the idiots claiming robbery in the John-Marquez fight.....watch the damn fight. Could Marquez have won? Of course. So could have John. It was a close fight and I scored it 113-113.

Oh, it took me a minute but I get it.

You think we're the same person because we both used the word "idiot" to describe people we think are agenda driven.

    Yeah... ha ha. Cool.

Fanboy can't handle that a good percentage of folks feel his boy lost.

Bro, you're arguing against two people whose usernames are 'JoeCamelTow' and 'elchivito'. They have 'JMM nut rider' written all over them. Just stop now, you're wasting your time.

Anyways, I watched and scored the fight 6-6 or 5-7 at BEST for Marquez, then theres the -2 deductions. John's style just doesn't compliment Marquez' style like Pacquiao or Diaz does. Neither does Casamayor, Mayweather, or any other counterpuncher for that matter.

He's fought out of his home country and reused to unify for the majority of his career

Him fighting as the home champion in places over Asia / Australasia vs less than stellar opposition doesn't make him a travelling champion anymore than Wlad is a travveling champion for fighting in venues around eastern and central Europe

    Or Calzaghe for fighting Manchester..

I don't get it. Shouldn't a champion always fight in his home country?

I count Singapore as a home-town fight. It's what, 5 feet away from Indonesia?

I've lost my scorecard, but I watched the fight some years ago expecting to see Marquez winning the fight and I saw the opposite. I had John winning by a round or a point, can't remember. He built a good lead in the first few rounds, outboxing Marquez who should have won that fight, but didn't.

For starters he is more a "regional" star vs. National star, and secondly holding the title hostage has nothing to do with traveling but rather the opponents and title defenses you face, which speak very loud in the case of John.

I was a fan, until alot of potential title unification's did not happen so he could fight no names

I corresponded with his manager and basically he is in a position where he makes more money not fighting in US than fighting in USA.....and the odds of "homecooking" are less likely.
