good fight! I wonder if Yordan will be able to get inside on the fading Chris John or if John will take him to school...

John will win. Yordan isn't anything special. John will hopefully finally grow some balls and face JML or Gamboa after this one. He's been one of the most protected fighters in recent years.

Chris John needs to take on the best at the weight and that is not Daud Yordan.

John is the top guy in that divsion right now and there is no reason for him to take a purse cut only to get robbed fighting in the USA like he did against Juarez. The man is on the backside of his career and has paid his dues.

H eis not the top guy at 126, he is fighting bums and doesn't want to leave his hometown, he made more money with Juarez than against any other opponnet and would had make a lot more fighting Gamboa.

So instead he should be allowed to continue hiding in his country so he can win a controversial decision when he doesn't deserve the victory as in the Marquez fight?

Thing is, John has beaten some quality fighters in his reign, without taking into account his fight with Marquez.

Rojas wasn't bad, and has the kayo victory over Cabellero to prove it.
Rocky Juarez was a solid contender. So were Enoki and Yordan. Gainer was past his best, but was the type of fighter who could have exposed John if he wasn't legitimate.

Now, throw in the fact that John-Marquez was at the very least a competitive affair and you've got a pretty respectable featherweight, all things considered.

He looked very average against Yordan

Cabellero really hadn't hit is stride at that point though. In addition, that fight took place at junior featherweight.

Fact is that Rojas has never proven himself to be a quality featherweight nor has Caballero. Same holds true for the others on John's resume with Marquez being the only exception.

Gainer was too past it at that point to offer any real test. A lot of average fighters would've beaten him at that point.
