John is bringing the pain!! Overhand rights!!! Kimura tries to duck down, but it only exacerbates his problems!! John has no compunctions about punching him in the top or back of the head! Whatever is available, gets HIT!! John is banging away, 1-2. Left jabs from the hip. Kimura is spoiling like crazy. Diving in, flopping against John, wrapping arms around his waist. STIFF jab to the chin by John. Flush right as Kimura pulls straight back. LEFT HOOK, RIGHT HAND COMBO BY JOHN. Left jabs and hooks from mid range by John. Kimura tries to jab with him, but John's is quicker and sharper. Kimura flurries chaotically in a subversive attempt to initiate a clinch, but John drops his head down and slides outside, picking up his attack immediately. Kimura is drilled by a right hand counter while trying to lead with his own as he backs up. Clinch.

Between this and the war with Yordan, I don't understand how anyone could think The Dragon is a boring fighter. :-(

Sure, the tepid pair with Rocky wasn't a shining achievement, but they weren't THAT bad to get him such a reputation..

 

Round 5

Looping right by John, with Kimura willingly stepping into it and letting Johns' arm curl around the back of his neck so he can lean in and get a rest. The ref doesn't allow it for long. JOHN LANDS SOME BIG RIGHTS FROM OUTSIDE. Kimura is getting pasted. Big hail stones and volcanic eruptions from John - delivering power from high and low, left and right. Kimura ducks and flops all over the place, hoping to grab but unable to as John minds his distance and just keeps laying down power shot after power shot from mid range. Brutal stuff. Kimura's head is getting ROCKED. 1-2 to the body by John as Kimura skips back. Hammering overhand combo by John as Kimura locks his arms around his waist. Nasty exchange of gob smacks up close, John getting the better of it but Kimura scoring a lick or two. Kimura is backed up to the ropes and hammered to the body.

Round 6

John is now incorporating the uppercut, and that's bad news for Kimura. It's landing quite well, and with some authority. Straight combos up top by John from mid range, and more uppercuts as he zeroes in. Kimura runs until he runs out of room to run, and then holds until the official withholds any further holding allowance. HARD CHOPPING RIGHTS BY JOHN!! Kimura as badly hurt as he's been all night!!! Starting to look ready to fall!!! John opens up!!! SCORING BLOWS, overhand rights to head and body, some rabbit punches but most legal. STRAIGHT RIGHT TO THE FACE!! Left hook to the body. Kimura dives in and holds. BIG LEFT HOOKS by John, head and body.

Round 7

Jabs to the face and hooks to the body by John. Kimura circles left, on shaky legs. Overhand rights from outside by John. Now a straight right, bursting through the guard. Kimura picks up the pace, circling faster and wider out. John cuts off the ring. Clinch. Break. Right hand, left uppercut by John!! OHHHHHHH, SNEAKY AMBUSH COUNTER RIGHT BY KIMURA!! JOHN STUNNED!! KIMURA FLURRIES ON HIM AS JOHN COLLECTS HIMSELF!!! WHAT THE ****!!! They trade!! John holds!! Break. Lead right by John. Left hook by John. Several jabs to the guard by John. Kimura has shied back to his usual self now. HARD ONE TWO BY JOHN!! ANOTHER!! Lining up very accurate hard shots from outside as Kimura circles. BIG RIGHT HAND!! Kimura hurt, stumbling. Kimura flops in and holds. Right hand, left hook by John as he spins on a heel to keep up with Kimura. Uppercut and overhand by John, rocking Kimura's face to either side.

Round 8

John chases his man down, and slams him in the backside with torpedo rights as Kimura turns over on him. Jabs and rights by John coming forward. Kimura has lost his appetite for war from the 7th, and is back to full-time spoiling. Circling right, diving and flopping when John gets close. A few weak slap hooks by Kimura as John is too far away, hitting the brakes in plenty of time to make him miss. John comes charging in with uppercuts, and his arm is grabbed and yanked on. Is Kimura trying to injure John? Not letting go of his arm. The crowd boos soundly. Kimura spoiling bad. Grabbing John's arm every time he throws and pulling on it, as though trying to apply an MMA submission. The crowd HATES Kimura now. John tags him with a 1-2 before the bell, and another just at the bell (maybe a split second after )
