Low blow? Taliwe is down on his knees, barely two seconds after the bell, yet the ref isn't counting. Confirmed, Yordan landed a low blow, first punch thrown by either. There is a puddle of blood forming underneath Taliwe from a profusely dripping cut somewhere on his face. The ref offers him up to five minutes to recover. Taliwe only takes forty seconds before sucking it up. Time in. Taliwe is warned for a retaliatory low blow on the inside. Taliwe is shoving into Yordan, propped against him with shoulder driven into Yordan's gut, but unable to hold the champion on the ropes. Battle of wills and physical strength & stamina here. Sumo match. Huge combination by Yordan as Taliwe is crouching in front of him. Taliwe dives in, flurrying, and holds. Taliwe is deducted a point for holding after repeated warnings. Wild looping right by Taliwe, missing. Yordan comes in and hurts Taliwe with an uppercut downstairs while Taliwe's right arm withdraws. Taliwe is dropping his guard to protect his body now, very badly hurt by that. Clinch. Taliwe might get disqualified here. The holding is making this ref irate.

Yeah, there were two separate things going on there I think.

He took a knee because Yordan got him low (accidentally) but there was also probably a butt, perhaps simultaneously, to open up that nasty leaky faucet.

 

Deservedly, though. He is holding like mad.

 

Round 11

Yordan is coming forward throwing hooks at the body and big clubbing right hands on the head. Nice counter left hook on the jaw by Taliwe while backing up, knees bent. Yordan doubles a left hook, face and - ball sack! Taliwe is down, and perhaps unlikely to get up from this one. Taliwe is crying and genuflecting on the canvas. If he is unable to continue this will probably go to a technical decision. The referee goes to Yordan's corner and instructs him that he is receiving final warning. One more low blow and he will be penalized with a deduction or DQ, contingent on blatancy. Taliwe pushes into Yordan, throwing jabs and big overhand rights, now keen to come forward. Yordan raises his arms, blocking, then firing combos in turn. Taliwe misses a high overhead left hook and ties up. The ref warns Taliwe for leading with his head on the inside. Left hook to the liver by Yordan as Taliwe tackles him into the ropes.

Round 12

Yordan is jabbing and pushing forward. Tape has come undone on Taliwe's gloves. Big hooks by Taliwe. Exchanges, wild and wooly, both missing as they push apart from a standstill lean. Yordan is bleeding from the mouth now. Taliwe is shoving Yordan into the ropes and gets warned by the ref. Taliwe lobs in a right hand, ducks away, then dives in and holds before Yordan can tag him back. Taliwe gets in a right hand and left hook. Big body shots by Yordan. Taliwe down, slip. Left hooks by Yordan, closing the round strong.
