Now, should it come off, expect a repeat of the recycled Donaire vs. Narvaez and Donaire vs. Nishioka script - legendary homebody champion in their career twilight goes abroad for a payday and looks to survive while Donaire struggles to look good with yet another unwilling opponent.

Vetyeka is jabbing and crossing into John's stomach and landing hooks and clubbing rights on his face. John is covering up and throwing straights back, hurt continuously and beaten to the punch in the exchanges. John goes down, seemingly from accumulation of head and body shots from Vetyeka but it's ruled a slip. John is shelling up now, Vetyeka teeing off. John down again, finally given a count.
