I was worried about John getting robbed, but the draw looked OK since Rocky came on, gave him the 11th and 12th, had it a draw myself, would like to see a rematch at a neutral site though.
i expect john to win at least 9 rounds convincingly, but he did not...so as far as i'm concerned, he losses stock on me... juarez style is tailor made for a boxer in john
john may have deserve the win but he losses his stock in my opinion...juarez may not be a bum but he has limited skills and john could have easily capitalized that...that's why im so impressed with john the first 7 rounds...after that, what did he do? i guess the body punched slowed him down... before the fight, i see john winning 8-4 at the very very very least despite having juarez the hometown guy
I didn't see the John fight last night, but I watched the John-Marquez fight on You Tube, and i must say that both guys are of the highest calibre. I guess the decision was right to go to John, but supporters of Marquez may have a point as well. Maybe they'll go at it again in a rematch, and like their first fight, it will be a boxer/technician afficianado's (like me) delight. Both are too good to be knocked out. Their fights will be physical chess games every time out. I would liken a series of theirs to be something like Walcott-Charles in a way, in that they are both technicians. John needs more exposure in the U.S. and I'm sure boxer-technician type fans like myself will be appreciative of him I'm sure.
I don't think it was a ridiculous decision because he was at his home arena. but John did win the fight by about 2-3 rounds if your being fair.
I thought John won first 8 rounds. Juarez was definitely on top in the final rounds but I think it was down to the fact that John had been ill in the lead up to the fight, he seemed to get very tired. A draw was a bit of a joke
i had john way up and then he tired and juarez started to walk through him. by that stage IMO juarez needed a ko to win or multiple knockdowns. i agree with the poster who said that maybe some of the judges seeing the early rounds wide for john , decided to be lenient and not have a landslide and then when juarez came back into the fight they scored the fight wrongly a draw because of hedging there cards in earlier rounds.
I scored the fight for John by about 1-2 rounds. But he lost the final 2 rounds. He should have finished strong but instead he kept getting caught flush and being timed by Juarez left hand. His corner didnt help either. They basically made it sound like he was down, when really he should have just stand on the outside and boxed.
Wow, where does the idea John dominated the beginning of this fight come from? Not the fight I saw. Rocky took quite a few of the early rounds with aggression and body punching. He clearly bothered John to the body even early in the fight. You could see Johns reaction to it as he backed up. The HBO crew ignored all Rocky's body work, and would only call the shots John landed. John looked pretty good, but he didn't seem world class to me.. and Juarez was able to fight on even terms with John for most of the fight.. thus the draw. The draw is more than fair.
Juarez finished strong but it was not enough to earn a draw (bad decision) as hometown as it gets.....I thought John won the fight 8-4 ....Rocky to his credit came on strong in the 11th but he was outpunched the whole fight...I think John should have won a UD...he got hit hard a few times but fought back weel and outpunched Rocky for the most part...John had good movement and hands...with a finishing trainer like Freddie Roach could really develope
