I think Chris John is a boring fighter but incidently the Marquez fight was an interesting one. A good contrast. In some rounds John's extreme countering style was more effectual and in the others Marquez had success with the more potent punching. Both men were attempting to do very different things. I scored it six rounds a piece, with John winning thanks to the two deductions. I remember thinking one deduction was definitely fair enough but I can't remember about the other.
Good defensive fighter, fights off the back foot, so he gets very little pop behind his shots. Great at picking off shots with his gloves and sneaking in counters. He'd probably have losses on his record if he was fighting all top-level competition, but the JMM win was legit, and he has beaten a few other top-level guys who just aren't big names.
He DID NOT beat JMM. But he showed against him that he is a world class fighter with a very good all round defense. He would be very hard to look good against and Im not sure his style would endear him to the public outside of his homeland. But he is underrated by most because they either havent seen him or automatically think anyone that doesnt fight in the U.S must be crap. I dont think he has enough in his offensive arsenal to continue winning unless he keeps fighting in asia, against his current crop of opposition. His next defense will be very tough, if he gets by him Im hoping he can land a big fight soon.
When first seeing the fight I thought the two point deductions were unfair, And thought JMM should of got the decision but John had home advantage. John did give JMM alot of trouble, he isn't a slouch by any means. JMM wanted the rematch in Vegas or Mexico but John never fights out of Indonesia, so that never happened. I do here that John is finally fighting out of the comforts of his home, has a fight scheduled in Mexico.
The decision was a joke. Chris John didn't deserve more than 3 rounds. It was a hometown robbery. There are only two people in ESB who have score the fight for CJ, but I even doubt they have seen the whole fight. And then Chris John continues the joke by not doing **** after that fight. I can't blame him though, he will lose to any top fighter he fights outside of home. :yep
Chris John is more of a guy who doesn't excel in any particular category, but the entire package is very difficult to beat. About the JMM fight, I consider it as a close fight that went to the hometown guy. Nothing wrong about it. Do you thing JMM would have lost a close one in Mexico? Of course not. John will give a lot featherweights trouble, I see him beating the likes of Luevano among others, but Guererro and Linares will be a heck of a fight.
I don't have a top 20 p4p but i am sure he won't be there. Beside, it is hard to like fighters who do not seek better competition.
:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Another ***** ass alias. Just stop posting you stupid piece of ****, you don't bring anything of weight to this forum. :deal
He lost but everyone who seen the fight knows there was some home cookin' involved, it was close though.
someone should bring him to the United States unless he's comfortable fighting only in Indonesia Gamboa vs John..ooooooohhhh
115-111 for Chris John is an absolutely bull$hit score. That's straight out of the Eugenia Williams school!
