His "win" over JMM was a robbery. Lackluster fight sure, but JMM was the one pressing the action out-working John throughout, who really did very little effective work aside from dictate the pace of the bout. Exposed weaknesses for Marquez though, such as his inability to have any real success pressing the bout against a slick mover. One with a good jab and a better offensive arsenal than John would've likely beaten him, such as a prime Casamayor.:yep
How good is this guy. I have never seen him fight. He beat Marquez and nobody really talks about him yet Marquez is in the limelight.
John gets overrated by those who claim he's underrated. He's a pretty average champion with a limited offensive arsenal. Nothing special.
What I have noticed is he fights mostly in his country. I believe I heard he will not unify with any of the other champs.
it was unanimous right? I didnt see it...doesnt the guy want to make money...why is he fighting these indonesians? if u even keep it close with JMM u have talent,,,what is the guy doing
Sure seems like it considering the fight with JMM wasn't even on HBO and was in Thailand, and since when is JMM not on TV:huh
I would love to see JMM and Chris John II for super featherwieght title or Chris could move up to lightweight and fight him. This time I predict JMM by UD.
I don't give a damn about John. That loss is a smear in JMM's resume, though, so I'd like to watch a rematch to see if John is THAT good. But it seems he prefers to fight journeymen in Asia. :-( BTW give me a link for your thread with the Pavlik/Floyd poll, I wanna see the final results.
