The man is a good boxer and has a win over JMM... but what else has he done, or what else is out there for him?

He had to rematch Rocky Juarez due to some sketchy judging, but that's already done and over with now.

I'd say he's a lot more than a good boxer, David. I see him being comfortable where he's at and making defenses though.

I would like the WBA to sort out their featherweight division they have Gambo and John as champions, That would be a cracking match up

I would like to see him take on Daniel Ponce de Leon in the US next. It gives him more exposure and Ponce de Leon was a good champion at Super Bantam and is a recognisable name so the fight would get on to HBO as an undercard. He would be a good name on the record after that I am thinking a fight against Izzy or a unification.

Featherweight is hot at the moment a lot of great fights can be made after Welterweight I would say it is the joint best division with Super Middleweight.

Daniel Ponce de Leon is next IMO.

Both are GBP fighters, HBO is interested in John and PDL appeared on the network numerous times. He's also the mandatory.

Gamboa would be in a perfect world.

Any top 10 guy would do as it stands now.

Hopefully he'l stay where he is with Vasquez marquez, lopez moving up and gamboa coming through too. Theres some big name fights for him to take and boost his reputation further.

I'm hoping that when Juan Manuel Lopez steps up in weight,so he can take on Chris John. If Lopez Catches John flush a few times on the chin, well that would probably end his night. But the thing is I don't see that happening.

Chris John is a great Boxing Technician and would be to elusive for JML.I see Chris John Out boxing Lopez for a decision win

He's been a great champ, and the best featherweight around. Why not move up?

John has also been making noise that he wants to unify, but his Indonesian promoters don't want him to take any dangerous fights. At this point, I hope John just dumps them, because there are a lot of good fights that can be made with him.

He has a good relationship with Golden Boy ... they've treated him well and have gotten him some exposure ... there are plenty of options for John ... Guerrero, Linares (should he get his title back ... or Humberto Soto (should he defend his title one more time) ... and thats all at super featherweight ... I don't think that he has anything else to prove at featherweight ... he's beaten some of the best of that division so there isn't anything else for him there - unless he wants to wait for some of those smaller guys to move up.

There's more money and prestige at the higher weights.
