Judging by the way this pull is going, Povetkin didnt impress at all in his fight against Chambers. I have a feeling Povetkin will be knocked out against any heavyhanded fighter he fights, Povetkin has slightly above average power with a questionable chin, the fact that he likes to trade punches with his oppenent wont work to well against guys that can really bang like Peter and Wlad, it's easy to impose your will on light punchers like Bryd and Donald.

15 votes for Arreola by KO? I know Povetkin didn't look unbelievable last night, but have you guys even seen Arreola fight? He will never be anything more than a Telefetura headliner. Come on..

This would be an absolute wipe out. Povetkin by decision picks are ridiculous also.

Arreola has 0 defence and that workrate would be blasting him round after round and he'll have no response to it. It's over in 5 or less and extremely brutal.

The Bostice-Povetkin fight ending in 2 rounds is a good indicator, as Bostice has a no defence situation also. Hell, Bostice would be a very tough fight for Arreola, as would Malik Scott.

Arreola has issue's with low level journeymen like Tann.:patsch

I think people are already throwing in the towel so to speak on young Povetkin. Arreola is a tough guy who has sparred before with Klitschko. I think judging the russian solely on the last fight with Chambers is ill advised. Chambers will make most opponents look awkward. Arreola is basically a crude slugger with none of Chambers' defensive instincts. He will try to make it a war in there. That would suit Povetkin just fine. Povetkin by kayo. In fact, Arreola is the caliber of heavyweight Povetkin's people should stick to fighting for now. The talk of fighting Klitschko in the summer is insane. Klitschko would blow Povetkin up right now. Let the kid get some more experience first. He's a very good potentially great fighter.

If Povetkin was an American, everyone would be talking about how many good qualities he has and the potential of what he can develop into.

They'd be intensely happy that he was able to 'smother Chambers and sap his will to fight back' and 'nearly throw 1000 punches'.

... Judging from the way that a sloppy, club fighter like Arreola gets overrated here.

    So true..

Arturo Gatti is a ring warrior when he's a punching bag for the first half of a fight and gets knocked out in the second half. Victor Oganov is a hyped up euro bum when he does the same.

    Yep.

Kelly Pavlik has a good chin for being able to survive the wrath of the monsterous Jermain Taylor.

Mikkel Kessler has a weak body for being stunned by a pin point body shot from Calzaghe.

    .........

Jorge Linares is a monster for struggling, then picking apart a past it Larrios, he's also a future ATG.

Joan Guzman is suspect and overrated for totally outclassing a game, consensus top 4 and very large SFW in Soto.

Povetkin would win by UD but Arreola is good enough to make it competative. If Arreola lands then Povetkin will be ko'd.

There's a reason Povetkin is ready for a title fight after 15 fights and Arreola will be knocking out 15 more bums in his next 15 fights.

    Pur-lease

Arreola is average as ****, and while I dont like Povetkin at all, he is fighting a few levels above Chris Arreola. Povetkin easy decision, or late TKO

Arreola is several notches below Povetkin in many categories. Hell, he's several notches below Chambers. He'd never be able to keep up with Povetkin output and workrate. He has little defense and telegraphs his big punches.

I think Povetkin outclasses him badly and would wear him down quickly and knock him out.

While a great American HWT would certainly do things for the division over there in the States, I'm not a lil bit upset about it over here in Europe. The big guys are doing great business overseas ( thinking about american soil and the New World of course), drawing big crowds in Asia and Europe. I've mentioned him before but Chris Arreola out of Riverside, Cali has some promise ( stands 6'4'' tall and weighs in 245 lbs, 22-0, 20 inside). He's no Larry Holmes, but he's got some pop and the desire. I like watching him fight. I hope he steps up in competition and his name gets mentioned in some of these eliminators. Happens that Povetkin was elected to be representative of a whole country like Russia and won an Olympic Gold, is getting most of attentions in Russia and Germany as a very hot prospect and most surely must have jumped to the consentual Top 10 Hwt ratings - you cannot possibly expect the learning, improving Arreola to compete with him at the time being.
