And Iran Barkley's speech (as of last night) is clear and crisp...after a long career of hard knocks.

    Go figure.

I think it has to do with the cutting of weight a dehydrated athlete is more prone to brain injuries...

Accordning to Abner Mares JC Chavez is really screwed up and forgets who Abner is.

Likewise. Couldwatch him and cagney morning noon and night. He was eternally grateful to leslie howard for getting him the screen part in 'The petrified forest'. How he never got the oscar for 'Treasure O.T.S.M.' is a mystery. Very funny watching him and tim holt trying to beat the guy up for not paying them

That shyster guy in the saloon was actor 'Barton MacClane' who appeared in many films of the 30s, 40s & 50s..... He died while playing Gen. Peterson on "I Dream Of Jeanie" in '69 of cancer.....

You know, Hearns is another guy who is a victim of learning to speak from the streets of Detroit....... Even when he was young and facing SRL in 1981, I thought Hearns had a slangish type twang to his speech......

Well, all the drugs Sweet Pea did certainly didn't do his brain any favors. From what little I've seen (the occasional thing on ESPN Classic, interviews on youtube) he seems to be able to think OK, but his speech is a whole other story.

Whitaker's problem is apparently misunderstood....... I've done more Coke and Booze over the last 25 yrs than a pro fighter like P.W. ever did, so its not the substance use / abuse causing his problem with his speech pattern..... P.W.'s speech sucks cuz he was uneducated as a youth and he grew up in a bad area of Virginia where many folks speak in a dumb manner..... Again, for the umpteenth time, I recall hearing P.W. doing a pre-fight interview yrs ago on TV and I thought he sounded lame way back then....... Whitaker spent his time in the gym learning how to box.... Whitaker was NOT hitting the books as a kid....... I seriously doubt he can read or write a complete sentence without murdering the language........

Bobby Chacon is also one of the worst, if not the worst.

Chacon took lotsa' hard shots after 1980.......

And some fool said that his fight with Mancini was stopped too soon by Richard Steele in 1984.... BULL****!!! B.C. was age 32 and way too weak to fight at 133 pounds against a 22 year old 134 1/2 pound Ray Mancini........ The fight was a gross HBO mismatch... I have the tape on file....... Chacon was pinned against the ropes and getting worked over big time by Mancini......
