No, he doesn't resemble him in the slightest. Sanders, despite his dad bod, was naturally a tall and lean guy with great natural athleticism and a loose, relaxed style of punching that was also highly explosive and fast. Hammer's a stocky, block-like fighter with a short neck and massive head, possessed of average speed, power and general athleticism, who fights behind a cagey high guard throwing one or two shots when he sees openings. He's actually probably closer to the poor man's Luis Ortiz, given their physical similarity and stretches of even fighting last night.

No, everyone in this thread knows what "poor man's" means. But there has to be some similarity there in the first place beyond basic things that could apply to many other fighters. Sanders fought with his hands down most of the time, moving laterally around the ring and firing off bursts of quick, explosive punches from quite an upright stance. The closest fighter I've seen that resembled him is the amateur gold medallist Roberto Camarelle.

Hammer fights behind a tight high guard with his head tucked into his shoulders throwing ones and twos, and generally remaining quite stationary. He's hard to put away because he rarely comes out behind his guard. Sanders was constantly putting himself in the firing line with his hands down, chin up, swing for the fences style and the fact that he often used to gas a couple of rounds in due to lack of training and pacing issues. There are very few meaningful similarities between the two fighters so the whole issue of poor man's anything remains moot.

Just a horrible comparison. Only things they have in common is they are both white, are heavyweights and are boxers.
