From WAtoday.com.au: Perth boxing identity had $190k in luggage: AFP April 24, 2009 Local boxing identity Craig Christian appeared in a Perth court today after Customs officers claim to have found almost $190,000 concealed in his luggage at Perth Airport last year. The Australian Federal Police seized the undeclared $187,000 and charged the man with failing to declare excess currency. The Customs and Border Protection officers at Perth Airport found the money in Christian's luggage on December 23, the AFP said in a statement. Police seized the undeclared currency and charged the man, from the Perth suburb of Stirling, under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing Act 2006 The maximum penalty for this offence is two years' imprisonment or a $55,000 fine. Over 280 money laundering incidents were reported to the AFP in 2008. Christian will reappear in court next month.
he wont get **** for it... Suspended sentence easily.. My oldman was caught on 3 seperate occassions with large amounts of dosh with no explanation.. 1 thing is forsure though,Craig wont get the money back unless he can provide a valid reason for having it..
