Himno nacional de Mexico first. Piña getting really into it, swaying side to side with his fist clapped over his heart, cricking his neck. He seems pumped & ready. Good. M'Billi is in need of a test at this stage of his career.

 

M'Billi drenched in sweat already. How much warming up did he do backstage? That's more perspiration than you'd get from some light mitt drills and shadow-boxing.

Round 1

Piña is coming out like a bat from hell, with shockingly quick jabs and uppercuts. Holy crap. Nonstop jabs and uppercuts, super fast. M'Billi seems a little overwhelmed for the first half-minute, just blocking. Now some body hooks and rights up top from M'Billi. Counter 1-2 by Piña, has M'Billi hurt and dropping away into a retreating crouch! Flurries in the middle of the ring both ways. Piña launching some WILD upward slashing arcs with both fists off either hip. M'Billi throwing straighter punches, aiming low and pecking at the waistband, then coming up with a 1-2-1-2 between Piña's thumbs, blistering combos to his face. Piña grins and beckons for more. Pure machismo in the ring here. Piña is jabbing M'Billi in the chest and throat from long-range now as things settle down. M'Billi reaches with a lead left hook at the ribs but falls short, then plugs a right hand into Piña's forearms aiming for his nose. Piña is parrying with a back-swing of his left wrist and chopping M'Billi with right hands.

Damn you guys, was anyone else expecting even remotely that?

 

Round 2

Piña is whipping right hands up top, sailing over the left glove and bopping M'Billi on the hairline as the Mexican strafes to his own left. M'Billi is reaching up high and clattering down with big hooks, elbows bent skyward. HUGE volleys, backing Piña into the ropes. M'Billi just drilling into Piña's crown from above with both hands, INCREDIBLE power in these shots. Huge whipping right on the body from M'Billi. BIG uppercut has Piña's head snapping back violently and M'Billi follows up with more down-hooks. Piña is driven into the canvas like a tent stake or croquet wicket even as he furiously jabs and loops rights to fend M'Billi off, running on fumes, barely conscious. Piña waved off with no count.

KO2!!!

 

That was pure savagery. Props to Piña, though, for even attempting to get up, and for making it such a battle prior.

People will see the result on BoxRec and just think M'Billi scored a routine kayo against some bum... This was epic, though. M'Billi has that scary pound for pound level power. He's kind of like a MW version of Beterbiev - very good offensive skill and bone-crushing ordnance in either hand, but leaky defense and perhaps a somewhat average chin (but no worse than average, in either Beterbiev's or M'Billi's case).
