Iirc I also scored the GGG fight for Derev but I haven’t rewatched in ages. Might give it a watch tomorrow now that you’ve brought it up

We were only talking about after the injury and I only said he was whipping in hooks and uppercuts on repeat, how we got to that doesn’t matter really because the fact is he was doing exactly that in the fourth round and later in the fight, the first three rounds have zero relevance to the discussion/debate, so I said he wasn’t probing using the jab after the injury he wasn’t he was doing his best to disguise his injury and he was whipping hooks and uppercuts on repeat, all proof can be seen just by watching the fourth round in isolation there are further examples of this throughout the fight but the fourth round is enough evidence to prove what I said.
I don’t think it is important enough to go Abby further down this road, you can argue that he was probing with the jab after the injury and I can’t disprove that because we can both have different opinions on what the definition of probing is, but it can’t be disputed that he did repeatedly whip hooks and uppercuts after he suffered the injury.

My point was that he was using his left hand in the same way pre and post injury, so the fact that he couldn’t throw it hard anymore wasn’t much of a factor. A probe isn’t really subjective but anyway we’re basically in agreement, he was clearly using his left hand less after the injury so it was a factor

It definitely was a factor; at the very least he would have been able to keep his left hand up to block Mbilli's right, which he got caught with quite a lot in the later rounds. Whilst he was still able to trouble Mbilli with right hand only salvos, if he was able to throw the left hook or even just the jab during those attacks they would have had a much greater effect.

I don't have the time or patience to go into detailed responses to all of these posts, so... pretty much this. Let's take the Occam's Razor approach.... Two hands in boxing, are always ****ing obviously better than one.

I think you misread. I said it definitely WAS a factor because he was using it less after the injury, he just wasn’t using it in a different way to how he was before

Sorry I didn't read your whole post, but it seems like you are saying it was simultaneously both a factor and not. Surely it is pretty clear a one-handed fighter is at a huge disadvantage?

But hold on a sec because Mbilli went life and death and was almost KOed by Gongora, so if that's the justification for him fighting Munguia, then by the same token, Mbilli is just as worthy an opponent for Canelo if not less so than Munguia was. And in every major ranking of 168 prior to Canelo-Munguia, Jaime was pretty much universally ranked above Mbilli. A number of posters on this site (myself included) would probably pick Munguia to beat Mbilli. This whole Bivol stole Canelo's soul and Canelo doesn't want to take risky fights anymore narrative is frankly untrue.

SD on instagram is keeping his chin up and blames the loss on his injury.
He is also pissed about Makhmudov, a Russian, walking out to the ring with air raid siren noise.

Respect. SD is a freakishly tough son-of-a-gun. Barely even showing the agony he must have been enduring.

He maybe won 1 or 2 rounds but showed incredible resilience as well as technical adjustments working with one arm.

The decision to fight on felt so unnecessary at 38 maybe SB thought it was his last hurrah.

Air raid siren was pure knuckle head ****.

Hard to imagine with SD on the main that it was a mistake...

Mbilli would kill Mungia and Berlanga. If Ginger won't fight Benavidez he won't risk Mbilli either. Even if he won it'd be a brutal fight and he don't want that.....

His tremendous experience, technical excellence, and absurd toughness are the reasons he lasted the distance. I knew SD wasn’t going to lay down for the inexperienced Mbilli

I love Mbilli. His flaws could hurt him though. Munguia has gotten better, although I still had SD winning, Berlanga? The most irrelevant fighter in the game lol
