Very exciting match up. Does SD still have enough in the tank to hold his own and make it a tough fight for M'Billi or does he get stopped this time? Christian Mbilli — Sergiy Derevyanchenko, 10 rnds, Super Middle Source: Boxing Fight Schedule
Checko will definitely hold his own, but I do think Mbilli will stop this older shop worn version of Chenko late in the fight.
Sadly I think this is the most likely outcome. Years of back-to-back bruising fights is definitely going to take a huge toll on SD. He's a tough SOB and a brave warrior but I think this could be the end of the road for him. Hopefully he pulls off one last valiant performance like he did against Jaime Munguia. Win or lose SD should call it quits after this.
It will be a shame if he cops a shellacking. The first couple of rounds will be the most dangerous for SD.
Agreed. Would be a damn shame if SD gets stopped in the early rounds. Mbilli is relentless and can punch. But then again this is the same guy that has taken punches from Jacobs, GGG, Charlo, and Munguia and was able to last the distance. So it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he also sees the final bell with Mbilli. The question would be how much punishment he’ll be taking from this guy. If SD manages to last the distance and shocks Mbilli that would be a fitting way to ride off into the sunset.
Tough fight for the elder SD, who has taken his fair share of punishment during his career and yet finds himself once again in with a big puncher. I hope he doesn’t get too hurt and calls it a day, unless he pulls it off.
SD is one of the most exciting boxers that’s always number 2… I just want SD to win once against a star, he deserves it but I don’t think this is the fight either unfortunately.
Derevyanchenko will be 39 years old in a few months , he's 3-5 in his last 8 fights, and he's fighting a young brutal power puncher at the heaviest weight in his career. His boxing know how should buy him some rounds before the ceiling caves in on him. I always thought he deserved better in his career but circumstances always seemed to work against him, this appears to be the textbook cash out fight.
Six years ago Technician would have dispatched Solide quite handily (and this is coming from someone that's always liked M'Billi). The fact that he's now 38 and slumping is what makes this interesting and lends it parity.
wouldnt be surprised if sd made mbilli look bad for 4-5 rounds then he gets stopped between round 8-11 becaue just to many wars
