Sure, the guy is lightning quick and surgical with it. He will dictate fights with it. He will own Berchelt if they fight Mark my words.

Probably much better, based on who played Fork Fest last year, that sounds like my own personal hell. Quite frankly, I think roasting in hell would be preferable.:sisi1

Colbert is talented but you can't really read too much into that because of Tug coming in at such late notice and being a 126 pounder and Colbert being a huge 130. Tug needed to get inside and let his hands go and fight at a high pace in order to win but he didn't or couldn't and it looked to me like he was pacing himself because he wasn't confident he was in condition to do so. Good performance by Colbert but I think Valdez would beat him. He might beat Stevenson though but I wouldn't be in a rush to tune into that one.

Isn't this another guy who openly admits he hydrates to something like 3 divisions (& then some..) above what he actually weighs in at?! Embarrassing.. The sport is comical. The weight divisions are a farce. Same day weigh ins should be brought back. Stamp this **** out. Some of these ppl have zero shame.

He's a little small for 147 but is completely ridiculous at 130. Him and Stevenson both.

We need same day weigh-ins or at least rehydration limits tight enough to make people fight at the weight where they perform best.

The whole draining thing can't be healthy.

That's not true. Tug had a full camp for this and his trainer said he had a much better camp than for the Cobia Breedy fight. Why are you spreading lies and posting that stuff like 3 times despite being absolutely wrong?

Why is everyone hating on Colbert so much? He came in, won 11-1 and impressed me, I thought it would be a much closer fight.

Weight grifters .. it's a huge problem in boxing imo.. people aren't just cherry picking opponents they are cherry picking weight divisions... go as low as physically possible (with the aid of clever doping regimes I suspect) to maximise your physical advantages to the absolute fullest. Probably b/c they know they couldn't be as effective if they did what most smaller framed fighters do & hovered 10/15lbs above their fight weights.. so they drain way down, fight smaller fighters & pass themselves off as multi weighters to the casuals & the sycophants.. a lot of these small weight fighters in truth probably walk around (on a slack day at least) heavier than i.e LWW Josh Taylor does.. Colbert openly admits he hydrates 20-25lbs fight night which means he's coming in at 150+.. guys a fkin SFW! An in shape Lopez recently weighed 156.. again probably weighs 160+ on an off day.. Lopez looks to have a frame that could easily mix at WW .. & Terence Crawford is just another level too.. even way back in 2017 he was on the scales at 176.. that was when he was still at 140! Imagine what he weighs now? Davis' is another one, even at LW against tiny Gamboa he hydrated to 147... & ppl praise these guys for being 'p4p' geniuses .. The only solution to it would be same day weigh ins & all year round weight monitoring. Capping weight .. Wishful thinking I know but it would even the playing field a bit more & stop ppl making a mockery of the weight divisions.

why do you care? If you make weight you make weight. Cutting weight isn’t easy. All fighters at these weights do it.

Why do I care? Because a 24hr rehydration cushion accommodates weight grifting, that's why. Colbert alone demonstrates this.. Imagine the effect weighing in on the same day would have on the performance of some of these fighters.. a lot of them wouldn't even bother, they'd just move to a more natural weight. The playing field would be evened out. Why don't you care? Cutting weight mightn't be easy , which begs the question why do many take it to such extremes instead of settling at a more comfortable weight? It's B/c they know they can & the effects of it can be negated overnight with correct nutrition, sleep & hydration allowing them
a size advantage come fight night.
It's not illegal & outside the rules admittedly. But it's getting ridiculous.
The fights are classed as a fight at a certain weight but on many occasion you've actually got a significant weight disparity in reality. It's never going to be perfect & no two individuals will ever be 100% evenly matched but we could at least put measures in place to stop ppl taking advantage of it. A supposed SFW hydrating to 150lbs+ is actually just taking the ****. I actually don't know why anyone WOULDNT see that as a legit talking point in boxing discussion. Whether you like it or not weight grifting goes on in boxing just like PEDS & cherry picking opposition does. If you don't want to acknowledge that then I think the problems with u , not ppl like me. If you don't like my posts, then feel free to surround yourself in a casuals echo chamber in future. Btw, I know in the past their were fewer weight divisions & size disparity probably happened a lot too but I thought we were evolving? Isn't that why we had more weight classes in the first place? To stamp out 20lb+ weight differences... diuretics are a wonderful thing it seems.. you're welcome ;)
