I have also just been seeing this all over twitter and FB.
There seems to be more people actually thinking Benn won or a draw at least. Crazy.... got to be the casuals fuelled by the narrative because for me it was not close at all Eubank out jabbed Benn outlasted him out landed him and won by 4 rounds, even though he is shot his legs have gone and whether it's the weight cut or the rehydration, I don't think so because he was the same in Smith 1. I just think he is old been in a few wars and well past his best. But also the lot bigger man with alot of experience he did exactly what he was suppose to do in beat alot smaller fighter.
I'm glad he won for the good of the sport, Hearn going on about Benn now being the people's champ now has got to be a joke right? He is a 2 x failed drug cheat that was never really that good anyway having fought old guys and skipping every level of British boxing and just being a straight up bell end.
Hearn has to keep the gravy train going so will fuel this narrative for weeks now in the hope of getting a rematch. I just hope Jr tells them to jog on and retires as the true current people's champ of boxing. Well done to Chris for his efforts last night to put a dent in everything that is wrong in boxing, 2 division weight jumps, extreme weight cuts, ridiculous rehydration clauses, and PED cheats. Boxing underneath is the cesspit we all know it is but that produced a very good fight last night and Sr and Jr played a blinder.
As a whole the fight was a really good fight that showed us exactly what we already know. Eubank is shot, Benn is pretty **** but when family pride and legacy is on the line, you will leave it all in the ring for the win.

It was poor enough alright on Sky once again.

It won't be any comsolation to know I watched some of the DAZN coverage and Adam Smith spent the time I watched it talking about everything bar the action, during McKenna Smith and early rounds Yarde v Arthur after which I had enough.

'The venue is filling up nicely......look theres Idris Elba......look theres Marcus Rashford......look theres Gordon Ramsey......all HUGE fight fans, boxing really brings out the stars.'

this was like the boxing equivalent of those modern Hollywood remakes of 80s/90s blockbusters. inferior, unsatisfying, full of nepo babies, forgotten within a week.

I wouldn’t say Eubank is shot but certainly declining. I would personally like to see him fight one of the belt holders for one last hurrah.

I ended up muting Sky from round 9, I’d had enough of their rubbish.

They’ve just said he’ll remain in hospital until tomorrow. Hopefully nothing serious and just precautionary.

Credit to both fighters , was a highly entertaining low quality scrap.

CEJ struggled but showed true spirit and determination and ultimately that he was poor but still won, Benn fought until the bitter end and gave it his all but was just too small, I think he showed a lot of what people didn't think he had in him.

I think the rematch is the only option for both, CEJ looks a shadow of his former self , which was never top level anyway so he may as well cash in again and Benn may as well take the rematch because its all very well going down to his natural weight and looking for world titles but as much as he showed last night he will get pulled apart at world level at any weight and then miss out on another £7m purse from a rematch.

This is true , albeit not a very good full blown middleweight.

I disagree. He lost the first Smith fight due to the weight for me. He is certainly declining though as you would expect at his age.

    Define not very good?
He has fought at world level, lost a very close and arguably contentious decision against BJS has wins over Abrahams and De Gale ( let’s remember De Gale was world champion and relinquished his title so he could get the Eubank JNR fight. I’m not suggesting Eubank JNR was ever elite but imo he is better than you give him credit for.

Eubank Jnr should be celebrating his win yet he is in hospital until tomorrow having been totally dehydrated at end of fight along with his facial injuries.

Snr is correct, there is a brutal life changing/ending fight around the corner for someone.

    Shame on Eddie Hearn.

Like many on here I wasn't into Eubank for the longest time but couldn't be happier for him now. He was fighting the whole frigging establishment last night and his win is for everyone who's had to suffer an unfair playing field in walks of life far beyond boxing.

Also, that fighting game thing that popped up half way through can get in the actual bin. Turki if you're reading this (which I'm sure you are, as a massive boxing fan) then please never, ever, ever make us watch two "streamers" playing a game at a boxing event ever again.

Imagine if Jr ****ed off the rehydration clause and came in fully replenished at 180+. Conor would be in ICU right now… no way would On Site Eddie of called it off with that much dough for himself to bank

Loved the fight last night, both men deserve huge credit. There was a lot of hype and the fight lived up to it and more, they both left absolutely everything in that ring.

The fitness, heart and desire they both showed deserves huge props.

They tried to stack the deck in Benn’s favour with so much sh1thousery so I was heavily rooting for Eubank. He had them all on strings in the build up and then got his hand raised on the night.

Senior turning up in the manner he did was just pure and utter gold. Absolutely brilliant.

Benn can come again at 147 no doubt about it however because the fight was so good and there’s so much money to be made in a rematch, I think they go down that route.

Eubank is not the same fighter he was, his legs aren’t what they were. You used to be able to hit him with a bat and he didn’t go anywhere but the weight, age etc are creeping in. He still however landed the crisper cleaner shots and finished the fight stronger. I’d like to see him step away from the game now but money talks.
