Just been watching some boxing controversies and I noticed Chuck Giampa's name come up twice Calzaghe Hopkins fight. Very close, I had it Calzaghe by 2 and Im a bit biased maybe because Im Welsh but these were the judges score cards Ted Gimza 112-115 | judge: Adalaide Byrd 114-113 | judge: Chuck Giampa 111-116 Calzaghe won it by 5!? You are having a laugh! This is a pathetic scorecard. The forst 2 judges you can say ok fair enough but Chuck is ridiculous on this one. Calzaghe did not win it by 5! he even had a 10-8 against him in the first round! Next one was Chavez v Meldrick Taylor. Any idiot (including Jim Lampley!) Gave Taylor the first 9 rounds. He out sped Chavez and put on a great performance, but faded in 10,11 and consequently 12. The judges scored it: Dave Moretti 102-107 | judge: Chuck Giampa 105-104 | judge: Jerry Roth 101-108 CHUCK SCORED IT FOR CHAVEZ!!??? What an idiot! Meldrick Taylor gave an awesome first 9 rounds before a sad end in the 12th. Chuck should have been banned from judging after this fight. a 105-104 in favour of Chavez is ridiculous Anyone else know of any other fights Chuck Giampa has scored controversally? And does anyone know of any procedure taken against judges if they submit ridiculous scorecards? Can action be taken against them?
