I didn't say he can't wrestle. I said he, for whatever reason, usually doesn't. Read the rest of the posts before the one you quoted. Again, where was this skill against Jardine? I have no doubts Liddell could ground and pound Jardine. He didn't.

You are right, half the striker would be criminaly stupid. He is every bit the striker and then some.
If you are talking "dirty boxing" or "ground and pound", Couture and Fedor are obviously better. Those are not pure striking aspects, they are also grappling aspects. If you are talking pure stand-up striking, like boxing, Kimbo looks better.

Again, Kimbo is no Cro Cop. He isn't even a Butterbean. He would still beat up Randy and Fedor in a boxing Gym. For a couple rounds at least. Kimbo has yet to develop the stamina to compete for a significant time.

Ever box? Ever kickbox? Ever train in either? Better yet ever see a professional boxer fight shitty competition and look absolutely amazing...and then see them step up and look like absolute dog****? Look Kimbo has the basics down yeah, and his striking is good but how in the world can you know how good it is until he is tested against somebody even close to the top 10? Fedor stood with Crocop...enough said. Rany dropped Tim Sylvia.....sorry bro but that alone says he's the better striker then Kimbo until Kimbo proves otherwise.

Since 1990, so for about 18 years.

Kimbo's punching technique is better than Fedor's or Couture's. His punches are shorter, combinations are better, and he doesn't look like he's fresh off the Tuff-Man Circuit.

Fedor and Couture are successful striking because you don't get separated in a clinch, and you can punch on the ground. Sure, they land the occasional "hay maker"; but most of the time they are holding and hitting.

    Wasn't a boxing match.

    Guillotines, holding while hitting.

    What's your point?

His combinations look better because he is throwing them against guys who are either scared of him or have less skill then he has. Thats all I'm saying. I wasn't trying to insult you, so you train you should know this. You can look like a superstar one day...and then look like a complete amateur against somebody else. Lets see how Kimbo's striking looks against some elite competition before we say he's better on his feet then Fedor and Randy.

My point is that Couture has been boxing on and off for 20 years since he was in the army, outboxed Vitor, Outboxed Chuck the first time, outboxed Tim Sylvia, Kimbo got outboxed and knocked out by a fat Boston cop.

Couture would beat Kimbo just as bad in a regulation boxing match as he would in MMA.

    Point valid. Point taken.

I believe Fedor and Randy would beat Kimbo inside the cage even if they didn't take him down. They would get to the clinch and maul him. I don't believe Kimbo's stand-up is better. I believe his technique is better if holding and hitting does not come into play.

I would not pick Kimbo over Liddell. I am simply saying that Liddell often fights as though he is in a boxing/kickboxing match. Fighting in this manner would give Kimbo a chance.

Kimbo is inferior to most mma fighters on the ground, in the clinch, and in terms of stamina. His punching technique, however, isn't. I don't think he should be favored over any real mma fighter at this point.

Chuck would take out Kimbo in one. Kimbo doesn't have the power of Rampage Jackson or the other cat that was just destroyed by Silvia in one. Neither does he have the skill or staminia.

A few punches from Kimbo had Gannon's head looking grotesque and disfigured and Kimbo had no official training whatsoever then. There is one thing Kimbo hasnt shown yet that Liddel has shown a few times - that he can be knocked out with one punch....
