    90% of lawsuits settle. Settling a law suit means nothing at all.

    Stallone would have probably won in court. Wepner had no case. Inspiring something doesn't get you any money unless it's in a contract that it does.

    That aside, I'm glad Chuck got something. He's a good guy, one of boxing's legendary character, and I guarantee whatever the settlement amount, a millionaire hundreds of times over like Sly didn't miss it.

    How would you like it if someone made a billion dollars off a lot of events that happened in your life and the man that took all those ideas credited you with his inspiration, but gave you nothing at all?

    anyone know how tall wepner is? looked like a pretty big dude, but his height isnt listed anywhere...seemed to be about 6'4ish atleast

    He is 6'5".

    Wepner used to say he gained a few inches from all the uppercuts he took.

    Sir in regards to messers Chuck Wepner. Did you ever ask him about the forgotten great Bayonne Globetrotter Jeff Smith? He coudda been a young amateur and perhaps met the guy.

    I will see Chuck next Thursday as he is coming to the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame Induction and Award ceremonies, that I am the President of.
