That's a hilarious title. " The Beeder." But it should be cool as Chuck Wepner had an interesting life. I've talked to a few people who met him in their travels. Fun guy and lots of stories.
Liev Schrieber? :blood I think Stacy Keach would be more realistic casting. Then again, there is a long tradition of Hollywood "prettying up" the protagonists of rooted-in-truth biopics. (the woman that Dangerous Minds is based on looks nothing like Michelle Pfeiffer :yep)
So many great Champions or boxers who were actually good that led interesting lives....and this is what we get.
Right?? He already pretty much got one, and got settlement cash from Stallone after his tawdry, shameless belly-aching. :crybaby What a mug.
I heard Cruise had to gain eleven inches for the role. That's dedication, right there. Christian Bale in the Machinist eat your heart out. That's method for ya.
A fighter doesn't have to be great to have an interesting story. I think a wepner movie would be cool. Dude worked for the mafia, had some big fights, and is actually still living 40 years later. I thought Will Smith's portrayal of Ali was average at best. Movie didn't do his story much justice.
Stacy Keach is closing in on 80. I don't think he could play a 30-year-old fighter. John C. Reilly - from "Dewey Cox" and "Ricky Bobby" - might be good. He's kind of got the face for it. "Shake and Bake."
Well I´m 6 foot 4, 57, fat and ugly . . .done som acting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrMgePWPdh0
Mr. Keach is a THESPIAN, of the olde methode schoole. :bart He can do whatever he puts his mind to. Why, he could play the fat black titular lass in Precious II: Oscarbait Boogaloo if he so chose. :deal
That's all true. I agree. :good I'd like to cast my vote for the girl from Precious to play Red Foxx ... who did color commentary at ringside for Ali-Wepner.
