Cintron: "I Don't Think Margarito Is One Of The Bigger Punchers At 147"

I think that fight woke up Margarito. I also think Margarito forgot it was a 12 round fight and thought it was 15 rounds like the good ol days when men were men.

 

As said he doesn't load up on every punch. That'd be stupid as there would be no way he'd go 12 rounds like that.

But when he has his opponent in trouble he does amp it up. He can punch very hard when he wants to. Just like Paul Williams. It just doesn't seem that way because the majority of the time they are just throwing to land.

 

Cintron told part of the truth - Margo wears you down with mental and physical pressure... But he carries a very heavy, damaging punch and you can actually hear the thud of his right hands at ring side. Kermit was one to duck his head low and take it on the back of the head from round 2 on and started complaining to the ref - Cintron felt the weight of the punches. I personally believe that Tony is the most damaging puncher P4P when he goes to the body and upstairs with hooks/uppercuts from the floor.

Well, i'm not talking about punches that literally miss, i'm talking about the amount of punches that land but are sloppy and don't have a lot of power behind them.

 

The point is why is Margarito's name in Cintron's mouth at all unless to compliment him? He got KOed before 6 rounds in both fights.. this guy needs to stfu and keep his head down.

 

I remember in the 1st fight Margs thumped Cintron preety good and cut him from then on out it looked liek Cintron knew he was a hard hitter that can throw 100 hard shots a round

 

Margo isn't a big puncher. I agree.

 

If Margarito was a murderous puncher as well as throwing 100+ punchers a round with relentless stamina, an unbreakable chin and bags of heart he would ko everyone in a couple of rounds.

he is a heavy puncher, no doubt, but toni grinds people down with barrages of hard punches instead of a few big ones - i would have thought that was obvious to anyone, but i guess people assume if you knock people it must be because you have lead in your fists

It was an easy assessment. Berto, imo is the hardest hitting welter and Cintron is right behind him. Now lemme ask when you watched the Cotto/Marg fight who would you say landed the harder punches? It was clear to me that Cotto hits much harder. Unlucky for him that Margarito just so happens to have an alien chin and he doesn't feel pain. PTP is really the only one that can be argued however when he's not slapping his opponent and really decides to sit down on his punches as he did against Qunitana in the 2nd fight, he shows that he has some serious pop.

 

Well this merely proves that Kermit is a dumb, mentally weak *******
