We had about 1.000 threads in just one day, rambling about how Kermit Cintron purposely jumped out of the ring in his fight with Paul Williams and how his acting skills should get him an Oscar. What I haven't seen, is serious arguments about why the hell would Cintron throw himself out of the ring (and subsequently out of the fight) after only 3,5 rounds while his opponent had barely landed anything up to that point. Was Cintron hurt by a punch? - No Was he overwhelmed by the unbearable pressure Williams put on him? - No Was he in any kind of trouble up to that point? - No So, the only thing that would explain such a behaviour would be if Cintron suddenly lost his damn mind and thought 'oh nice, how about diving out of the ring and see what happens?'. After falling out of the ring, he indeed spent much time looking baffled/scared, which I thought was due to the fact that he feared he could have sustained some damage (this attitude is explained by his known mental problems inside the ring, when push comes to shove). But, the man was not allowed to continue by the doctors although he wanted to go on and immediately after the fight he said he wants to have a rematch as soon as possible. I really want to know why people think he did that on purpose. Give me valid reasons why he did it, other than temporary insanity which is the only one I can come up with.
Simple: He knew it would cause chaos on ESB and he is very bitter about this forum. He's a diabolical genius willing to throw away his career just to **** with us.
You got to have some serious mental problems to fall and NOT EVEN ATTEMPT to get up in front of thousands of people who came to watch you fight. According to Cintrons past drama in the ring, it's not hard to say that the dude has some mental issues going on
Cintron's history doesnt help him out either. In the Ring and especially all the revealed information his former trainer has been telling us.
You just summed it up. Considering Cintron's history and the way he cried like a ***** when he got knocked down by Martinez it's easy to surmise that when Cintron fell out of the ring, rather than get up and take time to recover, he felt that since his opponent had barely landed anything, he'd be ahead on points and would either cry himself to an easy win or a NC in which case he'd be making an easy payday. Seriously...I've lost all respect for this cupcake after his "draw" with Martinez.
the thing is did he know the ropes hadnt been secured , because they should heve been tied together either using the ribbon/banner on the ropes or undernethe the promotional banner/ribbon if the answer i yes then you could maybe make a case for a dive but if the answer i no then its a resounding no to dive as properly secured roes would not have come part like that and he would have just fell into them rather than them splitting
He just does not have what it takes to be a boxer. There are reasons a lot of fans wouldn't try boxing, because their nerves won't allow them to. I see Cintron as one of these people, except somewhere along the line he figured he could get good money for doing it. I see him being nervous, beyond the average boxer, everytime he fights. What more proof do we need? We can make the same argument about his Martinez fight, but for damn sure he knew it wasn't a heatbutt. **** him.
I don't think he had any reason to do so but he did it. He pushed off his back foot and jumped. I watched the sequence about twenty times. Sure as water is wet that boy jumped out the ring. Honestly I think he was assuming the ropes would stop his momentum but he miss calculated and took an "L". If anybody is thinking rematch. Forget it. HBO has made their decision regarding future business with frog boy. That's why he lost when he obviously won at least two of the four rounds. Cintron is done as far as HBO fights are concerned. And factor in the fact pavlik is passing on the rematch. Who do you think is next in line for Martinez. Frigidy Frog boy will be fighting on Friday from now on.
Simple, it was opportunistic, he thought along with his team that he was ahead and would take the win over pw there and then
But this is my point. He 'cried like a *****' after he took a vicious shot, while in this fight his opponent hadn't landed anything significant up to the point of the charade. Although this could be an argument about why Cintron didn't get back into the ring to continue (the doctors didn't let him, but anyway), it doesn't explain why 'he purposely jumped out of the ring' as some people claim. I made the thread basically asking this, not why you think he stayed out of the ring for so long. I don't understand why you lost respect for Cintron after his fight with Martinez. Cintron wasn't the one that scored the fight, and he wasn't the one that ruled a legit KD a no-KD because of a butt.
I don't know why he would do it, but to me it really looks like he did. The only thing I could possibly think of is that he grew up and athlete and not a boxer. Hear me out on what I mean. I played basketball my whole life and love it, but watching it on TV it's obvious a lot of players draw attention to themselves embellishing supposed injuries only to be miraculously recovered in a matter of seconds. This **** goes on at the high school level to. I've seen so many players embellish injuries for no other reason than I assume they've seen that **** on TV....that doesn't fly in boxing. If you're hurt, you DON'T draw attention to it. It's happened in the past with Cintron when he was flopping himself all over the ground in his first fight with Margarito. Though he was getting punished, the way he threw himself around you would have thought he was in the 12th round of a Cotto-style pummeling. Once again, I have NO IDEA why, but thats a possible theory.
