i need to see more of each fighter honestly... i still dont buy cintron and clottey looked wack 2nite as much as i like him.... ill save my vote but will also say... imagine clottey taking cintron to twelve.. i dont think it would look good for cintron
I agree Clottey looked whack tonight, but I will say that Alvarez is def. a slick/defensive fighter that is probably hard to make an exciting fight with. It looked like Clottey was starting to hurt him about round 5, but Clottey couldn' capitalize and close down the show. Could be as one of the commentators suggested that he might have been saving his hands (we know he's had hand problems b4) and just cruising on a comfy lead. but who knows, bottom line he really didn't look like one of the top dogs of the bad ass WW division.
Well Cintron stuggled against Estrada, and Feliciano. Clottey is better than both those fighters. Clottey winning this fight wouldn't surprise me.
Clottey also lasted 12 rds. with Margarito, and was winning the early rounds and we all know what Margo did to Cintron.
Both psycho and ailmatic have good points, if the top version of Clottey shows up, this could be a hell of a fight. My initial thought though is that Cintron will wear that ass out, but I may change my mind closer to fight time because you just can't count Clottey out.
i dont think it was the thing about the hands as the commentators mentioned..... i feel like clottey just wasnt game for 2nite.. he looked at tonight as a fight that he just needs to "show up" to and beat up on alvarez and get his quick W and move on .. instead of going to the ring with some pride and destroying alvarez as he probably could have.... he was cruising throughout the whole fight . it was obvious to me when he would just pose and wait for alvarez to attack so he could practice his counter punching.... i cant lie about being impressed with his defense though... VERY VERY SOLID.... he leaves himself open for jabs a little bit but nothing to serious because hell take a punch to get one
