If it doesn't get rough for him, Cintron will take it. If you let him get confident on you, he's dangerous as hell. HOWEVER, I think it WILL get rough for him against Cotto. We'll have a better idea once we see Miguel fight at 154.

Yeah I can agree that this thread

    be a little premature.

And for the record, I'm not downing Cotto as much as I am saying that Cintron is better than advertised. I think Kermit beats Margarito, Clottey, and Shane at 154 as well.

I remember this fight being talked about as a possible match for cottos comeback after the margobricko fight and cottos camp said he was to dangerous as a comeback fight, I think it would be an interesting matchup but I can see cotto withstanding the pressure a bit more and being able to get a mid to late stoppage, if it goes to the cards then its definately cotto but kermit allways has a chance with his power and decent skills, regardless we cant really pass judgement until cotto actually fights at 154 in a few weeks.... then we can reopen this thread

I would take him over a legal Margo and this version of Shane probably. Clottey would unnerve him at some point always walking to him and Kermit would start getting frazzled, probably start eating some big shots.

    I'm inclined to agree.

And again, I'm not trying to hate on Cotto

its amazing to me how you can constantly **** on cotto (cotto is just not that good :patsch) and then try to up cintron.

Your argument is the same argument that has been brought against cotto in his fights with mosley, in his fights with quintana, in his fight with judah (and before anyone laughs at the name judah, lets remember we are talking about cintron here, who hasnt done half the **** judah has and who would be up to his own neck in a fight with him at 147)

You act like Cottos only chance is if he has 1 punch power and all that, youve got it backwards, Cotto is the betterr boxer, and has shown before he can win fights without hurting his opponent, Cotto has SHOWN his quality against the likes of mosley, clottey, and margarito (despite his loss), when exactly has cintron showed his worth? in his amazing win against angulo?

cintron brings a bigger frame and a bigger punch, whoopdeedoo... which means cintrons brings a punchers chance into this fight.

Cintron doesnt really wear anyone down in the classic sense, he doesnt really impose himself or his will on his opponent (the type that is cottos achilles heal), - hes a range-boxer that hopes to catch you at the end of a long right while outboxing you. That is not what bothers cotto. Cotto isnt bothered by someone outboxing him, hes bothered by toughness, chin, pressure or speed with power at the end of it.

Hes not going to be outboxing cotto, he simply doesnt have the skills to compete in that area, add to that hes not the toughest guy in the world and would be succeptable to getting fustrated with cotto's mix of counter punching and pressure (granted, i havnt seen 'that' cotto in quite awhile, and were still waiting on what cotto looks like after the pac destruction)

But dear god, if cintron is so good in your eyes and cotto so bad, i would hate to see how you rank these two fighters had it been cotto who couldnt even make it past the halfway mark with margarito, TWICE, jumping out of rings, crying, and whos biggest win is ANGULO, while cintron showed his toughness in a war with torres, eeks past clottey, wars with pac, outboxes mosley, destroyed judah, destroyed quintana, ect.

Youd probably have cintron at number 2 behind williams as the best fighter of all time had he those credentials.

Is this a live fight in my eyes? yes it is... cotto has slipped dramitically in my eyes since margarito, and theres no telling how he will be after the pac destruction, add to that hes always been available to be hurt by a big right hand, with cintron having one of the biggest around, and id be ******ed not to think cintron has a punchers chance. Add to that how Cotto will deal with Cintrons size n reach and it gets a bit interesting, but thats all it is in my eyes... so its a live fight, and theres no problem with anyone thinking cintron could win, its your double standards and constant hugging and hating that is flawed.

but ay, dont let me get in the way of your complete and utter bias... flame on.

    Just my opinion man.

Like I said, you guys already know my biases when it comes to Cotto. I sincerely wasn't trying to go there. I am talking about right now, against Kermit Cintron, who I think gets a raw deal when it comes to his supposed mental weaknesses.

I think he has more than what is needed t beat a 154 pound Cotto. But as it has been stated before, maybe we should wait until Cott fights at 154 before we say he could crush Cintron or that he isn;t strong enough for the weight.

At 154 I think even Cintron will murder Cotto especially if he is doing well early and becomes confident. Cotto doesn't bring the physical size or intimidation factor to shake Kermit's confidence in my opinion. I really don't believe Cotto will be a factor in the 154lb division due to his physical shortcomings and shaky chin and loss of power & speed going up in weight. Perhaps if he easily steamrolls Foreman(a non-puncher) some of the enthusiasm will return.

Both are overrated hype jobs, but if I had to choose then Kermit would destroy Cottoe by using his famous left hook and right uppercut aswell as his amazing defensive techniques.

Kermit would destroy Cottoe; just with his vicious looks and rip his heart out while wanting to eat his children.
